and other appropriate methods.<br />
5.21.4.2 Learning<br />
Learning is concerned with acquisition of new skills, knowledge and attitudes by the trainees<br />
as a result of the training programme, in accordance with its objectives. Some of the evaluation<br />
techniques <strong>for</strong> this purpose are : tests, examinations, workplace based assessment of competence,<br />
projects etc. It can be done during or at the end of a training programme.<br />
5.21.4.3 Behaviour<br />
Behaviour is concerned with the extent to which the trainees were able to apply their<br />
knowledge to real field situations. In other words, the change in the on-the-job per<strong>for</strong>mance, which<br />
can be attributed to the programme. Assessment of improved per<strong>for</strong>mance may not be easy all the<br />
times.<br />
5.21.4.4 Results<br />
It is concerned with the overall effect of the training on individuals, their job environment, or<br />
the organization as a whole in terms of cost savings, quality improvements and increase in output.<br />
Because departmental and organizational results depend on many facts and it is difficult to attribute<br />
improvements to the ef<strong>for</strong>ts of specific individuals. Experimental approach is needed here.<br />
5.21.5 Tools and Techniques <strong>for</strong> Evaluation<br />
The most important techniques and tools which can be used <strong>for</strong> collection of data <strong>for</strong><br />
monitoring and evaluation are as follows:<br />
