Special Features

The programme is designed to meet the needs of

working executives in a flexible and practical delivery

mode. The major features of the progamme are as

follows:

- Conducted in Cantonese, assignments and

learning materials in Chinese.

- Classes at weekends.

- The programme can be completed in 18 months,

with a maximum time span of 3 years.

- Recognizes the value of experience sharing so

as to maximize the applicability of the

knowledge learned in the classroom at the

real-life workplace.

- Hong Kong Education Bureau registered and

students are eligible to apply for government Nonmeans-tested

Loan.

Macau Institute of Management (MIM)

Macau Institute of Management (MIM) was established

in 1988. It is the academic arm of the Macau

Management Association, specializing in providing

education and training services.

Approved by the Macau SAR Government in July 2000,

MIM was formally upgraded to become a higher

education institution, offering degree programmes and

professional management training to the Macau

community. All qualifications are fully recognized by

Macau SAR Government.

To promote continuous learning, MIM encourages

working adults to further their studies and offers

programmes with flexible schedules and tailor-made

study schemes. In addition to qualified professional

background, MIM trainers and lecturers possess solid

management and teaching experience. They are well

able to deliver programmes packaged with practical

management skills and knowledge to address the needs

of our working adults.

The Hong Kong Management Association

(HKMA)

Established in 1960, The Hong Kong Management

Association is a non-profit-making professional

organization dedicated to providing Hong Kong with

the management training and skills it needs to succeed.

As one of the largest providers of management

training and education in Hong Kong, it offers

annually over 2,000 programmes at all levels to more

than 40,000 participants. The Association also has close

ties with a number of overseas universities from

Australia, the UK, the USA and Mainland China in

offering offshore programmes in Hong Kong. These

programmes include Bachelor’s, Master’s and

Doctoral degrees in various management areas.

Programme Structure

The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) awarded

by the Macau Institute of Management in Hong Kong

carries equivalent academic status and recognition to a

Bachelor’s degree conferred by the Institution to fulltime

and part-time students in Macau.

Students can choose to study different specializations

including Human Resources Management, Facilities

Management and Management. The Programme

consists of 11 subjects with a total of 80 credits to be

completed in 6 terms. It is offered in a part-time

face-to-face mode and is assessed by written

assignments and examinations. The standard

duration of the programme is 18 months and the

maximum time allowed is 36 months.

Language of Study

Classes are conducted in Cantonese

Course materials in Chinese, supplemented with English.

Academic Recognition

Students who have completed the programme will be

awarded Bachelor of Business Administration by Macau

Institute of Management. The qualification is fully

recognized by the Macau SAR Government.

Graduation

Upon satisfactory completion of the programme,

students are eligible to attend graduation ceremony held

by Macau Institute of Management in Macau in

November. Details will be announced upon graduation.

- Applicants who do not meet the above requirements

may articulate to the BBA programme after

successfully completing the Bridging Programme.

Lecturers

All lecturers possess Master s or Doctorate degrees, or

professional qualifications in their related fields. The

appointment of lecturers is subject to the approval by

MIM. Most of them are business veteran and have rich

experience in teaching at tertiary level.

Attendance Requirement

A minimum of 80% attendance is required for

satisfactory completion of a subject. Failure to do so will

disqualify the participant from sitting for the examination.

Tuition fee for the programme is HK$59,400 payable in

6 instalements of HK$9,900 each.
