<strong>Equality</strong> <strong>Scheme</strong> Action Plan<br />

2010-2013<br />

The <strong>Equality</strong> <strong>Scheme</strong> Action Plan:-<br />

Sets out what <strong>NHS</strong> <strong>Greater</strong> <strong>Glasgow</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Clyde</strong> is going to do <strong>and</strong> what success will<br />

look like to support the promotion of equality <strong>and</strong> remove discrimination.<br />

It is a formal commitment against which the organisation will be measured in terms of success<br />

in achieving the outcomes.<br />

It demonstrates how the outcomes will meet the organisation’s Public Duties in Relation to<br />

Race, Gender (Gender Re-assignment) <strong>and</strong> Disability <strong>and</strong> the forthcoming Duties in relation<br />

to Age, Sexual Orientation <strong>and</strong> Faith. Social Class/ Socio-economic status is also included.<br />

These are listed in the column ‘<strong>Equality</strong> Groups Covered’.<br />

The Action Plan has been developed using <strong>NHS</strong> <strong>Greater</strong> <strong>Glasgow</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Clyde</strong>’s ‘10 Goals’<br />

framework to show how the <strong>Equality</strong> <strong>Scheme</strong> contributes to a planned approach taken by the<br />

organisation to underst<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> tackle inequality in all its forms.<br />
