Instructional Development
When our course first began, it was only
offered online. Because of scheduling
difficulties associated with elective
courses in a CTE environment, we
continue to offer our course online.

Observations
Successes:
1. Students were able to see the connections between the two courses.
2. Instructors were able to combine aspects of both curriculums.
3. Students were forced to develop higher order thinking similar to collegelevel
curriculums
Pitfalls
1. We were unable to have both instructors in-class for both periods due to
scheduling conflicts
2. We had to spend a great deal of independent time developing resources
because there was not a joint planning period
3. We were too late in developing our program to get course counseling for
students in their Junior year, so we had to recruit students independently

Questions

“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow-mindedness, and
many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad,
wholesome, charitable views of men and things can not be acquired
by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.”
