Becker Bridges
Becker Bridges magazine is published four times
a year for alumni, parents, faculty, staff, trustees
and friends of Becker College. Our goal is to produce
a lively, informative publication that stimulates
pride and interest in Becker.
Features
CAPITAL CAMPAIGN.....................3
Becker is on the (capital) campaign trail to raise
$7.5 million, with a $3.1 million commitment
already in hand. “This tremendous beginning
should serve as a catalyst to energize the Becker
College community and sends a clear signal that
Becker is an institution on the rise,” said Arthur
DiGeronimo, trustee and chair of the
Institutional Advancement Committee.
NEW TRUSTEES...........................5
These are exciting times at Becker College, and
accordingly, six new dynamic business and community
leaders have been elected to the Board of
Trustees to help guide the building momentum.
ALUMNI PROFILES
Carol M. Erickson '48..................7
Reflecting on her life has Carol asking “Wow!
Where did the years go?” Carol (Cutting)
Erickson ’48 graduated from Becker Junior
College 60 years ago and has retired from a long
and fascinating career at Worcester’s
Hahnemann Hospital.
Dan Prouty '71............................9
After graduating with his associate’s degree from
Leicester Junior College in 1971, Dan went
immediately to work in real estate. “I’ve been
lucky”, Dan stresses with a smile. “My mentor
and first business partner and I were in the right
place, at the right time.”
EQUESTRIANS PUT ON A SHOW ..19
The Becker College Equestrian Center was a
hub of activity leading up to its debut as host for
the kick-off of the Intercollegiate Horse Show
Association (IHSA) 2007-2008 season. The
buzz about Becker has been growing and should
be reaching fever pitch…
