RAPPORT have over one hundred years of association with fine timepieces and are proud 

to introduce their latest range of Watch Winders and Collector Boxes – the ultimate 

accessory for owners of automatic, self winding watches. Owners of such watches are 

generally people who appreciate the finer things in life and will recognise the quality and 

practicality of a Rapport watch winder. 

Our designers have created a range of winders to satisfy the fashion conscious or 

more traditional tastes – there’s a wide variety of wood finishes to choose from as well as 

subtle combinations of various metals and glass. The wooden cases come alive with the 

application of no less than eight coats of highly polished lacquer whilst the metal models 

are finished to perfection. The interiors are lined with a soft-touch fabric to offer protection 

to the watches and add to the elegance of the winders, while the fine tuned mechanism 

keeps your watch in prime condition. Each model is painstakingly crafted using the finest 

quality components and attention to detail throughout – is second to none. 

People who have more than one automatic watch for different occasions often find 

that one is worn more often than another, and so a Rapport Watch Winder with multiple 

winders is the perfect answer to the problem. Just by slipping a watch over the cushion, 

and placing this within one of the independently controlled cups, the Rapport Watch 

Winder will maintain all your timepieces in perfect order.

Why use a Watch Winder 

An automatic watch has a mechanism that requires regular motion to keep the inner 

spring constantly charged, this motion is usually provided as it is worn. Once removed 

from the wrist the stored energy will only run for 24-72 hours, depending upon the model, 

then the watch will need to be manually rewound and reset. 

Many automatic watches have additional features, or ‘Complications’, – 

date/time/lunar phase/world time etc. so the task of rewinding and recalibrating a watch 

if it runs down is best avoided. 

Furthermore, watches of this calibre are precision instruments and like all 

thoroughbreds they actually benefit from exercise – if left unwound for long periods, 

internal lubricants can be lost from critical areas which will eventually lead to excessive 

wear on components and subsequent lack of accuracy. 

Rapport Watch Winders have features designed to mimic the action of a watch being 

worn. The watch is held at a precise angle while being rotated and the winder can be set 

to run intermittently so that the watch is always permanently wound.

Rapport considered closely the design requirements of each of their Watch Winders for 

Automatic Watches. The angle at which the watch is rotated, the frequency and speed of 

rotation are all important factors which Rapport has addressed. But just as important was 

the craftsmanship of the cabinet makers in providing boxes which are luxurious items of 

furniture worthy to grace any home. 

Soft Adjustable Pad 

The soft filled cushion adjusts to all sizes of watch strap, leather or link bracelet, and is 

covered with soft feel fabric which will not damage the watch. When the watch is slipped 

over the cushion it fits snugly into the cup and there is no danger of the watch becoming 

detached. 

Luxury Soft Feel Interior 

The build quality of these wooden boxes can only be described as luxurious with the outer 

surfaces being finished with eight coats of hand applied lacquer and the interiors being 

lined with a soft feel fabric which not only looks good but adds to the protective 

environment for your prestigious watches. 

The Mechanism 

The motor mechanism runs virtually silent, on a safe low voltage which is provided by 

batteries or from the mains using the DC adaptor supplied. The adaptor is available to 

suit all overseas markets. The mains adaptor plugs into a discreetly covered socket at the 

back of the box and when it is in use the battery supply is automatically cut to conserve 

power. 

Total Control 

Two modes of operation are provided – a fast winding mode, when the drum rotates 

continuously, and a timed mode which rotates the drum intermittently clock-wise and 

anticlockwise. 

Battery life depends on a variety of influences – the mode selected, weight of watch, 

ambient temperature etc. and so a battery level indicator is provided on each model. 

However, we recommend the use of the power adaptor supplied, as described above, to 

ensure consistent results in keeping your watch wound.

The Ultimate Winder for Prestige Automatic Watches 

Construction 

The Perpetua range of Watch Winders for Automatic Watches 

consists of models to accommodate 1, 2 or 4 watches and 

are available in a variety of luxurious finishes. Each model is 

of wooden construction with the outer surfaces being finished 

with eight coats of hand applied lacquer - with the exception 

of the genuine leather model. Metal fitments - hinges, feet etc. 

- are chrome or gold plated and the interiors are lined with a 

soft feel velvet fabric.

This range has been designed to 

replicate the style of box that sea 

captains of old would possess. Their 

watches were vital for navigational 

purposes and so had to be kept in 

pristine condition - thus Rapport were 

inspired to produce a watch winder 

with a nautical flavour to keep prestige 

automatic watches as accurate as any 

ancient mariner would demand. 

The cabinets are hand finished in 

highly polished Mahogany and have 

Brass corner protection details, 

foldaway handles and lock. The 

interiors are lined with soft-feel beige 

velvet.

For the serious collector of automatic watches 

the Ultima range represents a practical and 

attractive solution to keeping your watches 

properly maintained. 

The craftsman built cabinets are faced with 

genuine Walnut Burr wood veneer with high 

gloss ebony finish to the top and leading 

edges. The glass door is lockable and all 

fittings are gold plated. The interior is lined 

with beige, soft-touch velvet material. 

As with all our multi-winders, there is one 

power source, operating from a mains unit, yet 

each cup has its own motor and is 

independently controlled.

…a New Generation of Watch Winders 

Rapport are pleased to announce the addition of the Optima series to their range of watch winders. 

They still bear the same quality of materials and craftsmanship of the Perpetua series – yet we are 

pushing the boundaries of design by utilising modern materials and advanced manufacturing 

techniques. 

The watch carriers in this series have improved flexibilty to accommodate virtually any size watch strap, 

leather or metal bracelet. There is a screw adjustment to the front of the carrier and a sprung pad on 

the reverse. A soft padded leather covering prevents damage to the watch. The carrier then slots snugly 

into the driving mechanism and there is no danger of the watch falling off its mount. 

An additional advantage of the Optima drive is that, every time the drum comes to a standstill, the 

watch remains in the vertical position (providing it has been mounted in that way). 

These ranges also incorporate the next generation of technology in watch wider mechanisms - they can 

be set to revolve in one direction only (clockwise or anti-clockwise) or in a combination of both 

directions and there is infinite control on the speed of rotation. These elements of control are vital for 

certain types of automatic watches and you should refer to manufacturers’ recommendations to obtain 

optimum results from your watch winder.

The elaborate design of these winders gives the 

appearance of a machine built for some serious 

work - which indeed they do. The watch is 

secured inside the central brushed aluminium 

drum which is turned by a series of precision 

machined, polished brass cog-wheels mounted on 

the back. 

The impressive looking mechanism is mounted on 

a craftsman constructed, wood base finished with 

eight layers of hand applied lacquer. 

The Optima Cogwheel 

Features the Optima mechanism and leather covered clip to 

mount the watch on (see page 23 for details of the Optima 

mechanism). The central drum has a magnifying glass window 

to allow a clear view of the watch within.

A single watch winder in a futuristic cylindrical design. 

The Time Capsule consists of a chrome plate finished 

aluminium tube and visible brass cogs on a heavy 

bevelled glass base. The hinged door to the watch 

carrier is fitted with a heavy magnifying glass lens.

A very different winder - accommodates two 

watches on new generation cushions. Clip the 

watches into position and at the touch of the 

button the bronzed glass doors slide effortlessly 

closed and the sidelights illuminate the watches

all metal surfaces are brushed aluminium. In the 

event of a power failure there is also a manual

has interior lighting. The craftsman built 

cases have thick polished glass panels to 

the top and base secured by polished 

chrome decorative studs, and the 

lockable door has a bevelled glass panel

soft grey velveteen.

the Paramount range provides practical functionality in 

an exquisite cabinet. The craftsman built cabinets are 

finished in a Macassar wood veneer and the interior is 

lined with a soft grey velveteen material. 

Subtle interior lighting is provided to show off the 

watches at their best. 

The door is fitted with bevelled glass and is lockable 

for added security. An internal, velveteen lined drawer 

offers static storage for watches on adjustable pads. 

Each Optima watch carrier is individually controlled
