Editorial Note<br />
2 nd International and 19 th Croatian Congress of Technologists for Post-Harvest<br />
Technology and Bioenergy “ZRNKO 2006“ took place on 22 nd and 23 rd November<br />
2006 in Tuheljske Toplice, Croatia. This Congress is continually being held since<br />
1985, and it is a Congress of scientists and experts from the field of drying and<br />
storing of agricultural products. This year’s, Congress was organized by the Faculty<br />
of Agriculture University of Zagreb, Croatia in cooperation with the Faculty of<br />
Food Technology and Biotechnology University of Zagreb, Croatia, Faculty of Food<br />
Technology University of Osijek, Croatia, Faculty of Technology University of Tuzla,<br />
Bosnia and Herzegovina and “Politehnica” University of Timişoara, Romania. Coorganizers<br />
of the Congress were the European Society of Agricultural Engineers<br />
(EurAgEng) and the Balkan Environmental Association (B.EN.A.). The Congress was<br />
organized under the auspices of Ministry of Science, Education and Sport, Ministry<br />
of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, City of Zagreb - Department for<br />
Agriculture and Forestry Department for Agrimanaging, Brodsko-posavska County.<br />
The Congress was attended by approx. 150 participants from Croatia, Austria, Bosnia<br />
and Herzegovina, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Serbia, Switzerland,<br />
Turkey and Ukraine. 66 papers were presented from the field of bioenergy production<br />
from renewable sources, post-harvest technology and processing of cereal and<br />
industrial crops, post-harvest technology and horticultural products’ processing, feed<br />
technology and agricultural legislatives in EU. All accepted abstracts were published<br />
in the Book of Abstracts. I express my gratefulness to all authors.<br />
I also express my great thankfulness to everyone that was engaged in the organisation<br />
of the Congress, and to the Scientific Committee. Moreover, I greatly appreciate the<br />
support from the sponsors of this event.<br />
