INTRODUCTION
The IP Interconnection Services offered by Telefónica International Wholesale Services allow you to
provide a large amount of services and contents with a high number of connected users, benefiting
from extensive international coverage, unsurpassable speed and quality thanks to our widespread
international presence and a solid base of agreements.
These services are offered in more than 45 countries and have a direct presence in the main international
exchange points:

Security Policy: DDoS Shield
To ensure the continuity of the
service, Telefónica Wholesale has
a security solution that protects
against Denial-of-Service (DoS)
attacks and against Distributed
Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks.
These attacks are generated from
different points and their main
intention is to prevent any service
being provided, by heavily saturating
the link or by taking advantage of
the faults or weaknesses of the
attacked host.
Internet Transit
The solution comprises a system
with a detection phase and another
mitigation phase, the main function
of which is to detect and mitigate
DDoS attacks before they reach the
customer network. In case of attack,
the system acts in a transparent
manner towards the customer,
removing malicious traffic and
delivering the legitimate traffic to
the customer. Additionally, the DDoS
Shield provides the customer with
Web-based access, so they can check
the goodness of the service.
The global character of the Telefónica Wholesale network makes it the best
option for counteracting this type of attack, for which the original sources of
traffic are usually international, thus protecting the customer network from
the outside, as well as avoiding the financial damage these could cause to the
customer and their end customers.
Telefónica Wholesale undertakes to guarantee the following service level
agreements:
• TIWS undertakes to report an attack within 15 minutes of it occurring.
• Availability commitment of 99% for detection and 95% for mitigation.

Network Management Centre, one of the securest and most modern of its

this, we offer refunds, according to the conditions specified in the agreed SLA, if
the guaranteed levels of availability, delays and packet loss are not maintained.
We also provide a public URL on which our Network services may be

IPX/GRX Service
• Reporting: IPX Service customers can access statistics on the use of the service and the
monitoring of the different SLA parameters via the Internet.
• Service Architecture. As an option to the connectivity of Telefónica Wholesale’s
International Network and Domain Name Resolution (GPRS Roaming), Telefónica
Wholesale can supply and manage the Customer Premises Equipment and the
accesses to the service.
• Assignment of IP addresses: Telefónica has the necessary accreditation to provide
public addresses from RIPE and ARIN, the institutions that assign IP addresses in
America and Europe, in both IPV4 and IPV6 mode.
• Routing: Telefónica uses the BGP-4 protocol for the interconnection of the GPRS
mobile network.
• Peering: more than 250 mobile carriers are connected to the service.
• Easy for the customer: If desired, the service management can be assigned to
Telefónica Wholesale.
• Secure: carried by Telefónica Wholesale’s MPLS network.
• Flexibility: Infinite additional functions, such as Proactive Management, MultiVRF
