Things worth knowing<br />
The <strong>1500</strong>-<strong>40E</strong> feller buncher was developed in Finnland especially for harvesting energy <strong>wood</strong> from thinning<br />
stands. Such thinning processes are frequently required in forest areas which have long been neglected.<br />
However, the range of applications is much wider than that. <strong>For</strong> example, you can perform thinning and<br />
maintenance on riverbanks, highway embankments, power line corridors, forest or path edges and the like. The<br />
well-designed unit allows you to harvest multiple tree stems before having to empty the harvester. Depending on<br />
the tree species and dimensions, you can collect up to fifteen stems in the buncher head before you have to<br />
empty it. This minimises machine movements while at the same time markedly increasing productivity. Felling is<br />
done by a knife which has been specially developed for this purpose. This hydraulic knife has a significantly<br />
higher efficiency factor than that achieved by a chainsaw under the same conditions. The control system, which is<br />
included in the scope of delivery provides several automated functions, thereby relieving the driver of many work<br />
