Everything began in 1920 with the<br />

founding of the Vedette Company, a<br />

pioneer in the watchmaking industry.<br />

The technical watchmaking department<br />

was created in 1957 and took the name<br />

Flash. The department separated from<br />

Vedette in 1996 and joined the <strong>Hager</strong><br />

Group in 1998 as <strong>Hager</strong> Electro<br />

Saverne, and then became <strong>Hager</strong><br />

<strong>Controls</strong> S.A.S. Thus, the Company,<br />

while offering the responsiveness of<br />

A project, a team to always keep<br />

the objective in sight<br />

As soon as a customer’s request or<br />

specification is received, the project<br />

is placed under study. <strong>Hager</strong><br />

<strong>Controls</strong> is a multidisciplinary group.<br />

The various aspects – marketing,<br />

technology, design, … - are analyzed<br />

and then globally taken into<br />

consideration. Immediately from the<br />

start, people from the various trades<br />

and professions in the group meet to<br />

anticipate the technical constraints<br />

and requirements. This<br />

organisation ensures the initial<br />

objective and the announced<br />

deadlines will be achieved. In tight<br />

collaboration with the marketing man,<br />

the project manager coordinates the<br />

team’s work and is the interface<br />

between the company’s internal<br />

departments. He constantly keeps<br />

the sales department, which is the<br />

customer’s single and permanent<br />

contact, informed on the progress<br />

of the project. Areal partnership is<br />

therefore established between tne<br />

manufacturer and his industrial<br />

integrated. Three design & engineering<br />

departments – electronics, mechanics<br />

and software design – are equipped<br />

Temperature control<br />

<strong>Hager</strong> has a specific know-how in the<br />

electronic control of hot and cold.<br />

Control algorithms are developed by<br />

integrating environmental<br />

characteristics and the kind of<br />

heating (time proportional, digital,<br />

PID). Depending on contexts, the<br />

developed products implement<br />

various types of controls. Adapted to<br />

customer ergonomy, the products are<br />

proposed in wall-mounted, flushfitting<br />

or modular versions, or are to<br />

be integrated (eg, PC board).<br />

Radio and infrared transmission<br />

<strong>Hager</strong> develops for its customers a<br />

wide range of wireless communication<br />

solutions based on radio and infrared<br />

transmission technologies. A perfect<br />

control of the most recent techniques<br />

contributes to the efficiency and<br />

reliability of the proposed solutions.<br />

Printed circuit boards<br />

The development of know-how<br />

thanks to a strong technological<br />

capitalisation and a permanent watch<br />

allow <strong>Hager</strong>’s OEM department to<br />

propose high-performance solutions<br />

at the best price : analogical, digital<br />

and mixed solutions, to fit each<br />

customer’s needs.<br />

Lighting variation<br />

<strong>Hager</strong>’s mastery of the regulation<br />

control and lighting variation is<br />

linked to its knowledge of the field,<br />

its expertise in load driving<br />

mechanisms and the technological<br />

watch on the evolution of lighting<br />

products. It concerns variation and<br />

remote variation luminosity<br />

measurement products of loads of<br />

diverse kinds up to power ratings<br />

of 1 000 W/VA.<br />

Presence and motion detection<br />

The detection of motion and presence<br />

of people aims at reducing energy<br />

consumption and increasing user’s<br />

comfort and safety. Our know-how<br />

covers the implementation of infrared<br />

sensors and optical lenses which<br />

performances are tightly adapted to<br />

the targeted applications. Various<br />

angles of detection are possible :<br />

- from 140° to 180° for appliances,<br />

- up to 220° for wall mounted<br />

detectors,<br />

- 360° for ceiling detectors.<br />

Thanks to the large number of active<br />

zones, the homogeneous distribution<br />

of these zones, and high<br />

detection sensitivity, our solutions<br />

can reliably detect the slightest<br />

motions (presence detection).


Measurement and counting<br />

Electrical energy measurement and<br />

counting techniques are an integral<br />

part of the know-how of our<br />

design & engineering department<br />

(metrology, design, characterisation<br />

and qualification). They cover power<br />

ranges from a few VA up to 2 kVA in<br />

single- or tri-phase and are spread<br />

out in dedicated products or in<br />

communicating applications (wire or<br />

radio bus).<br />
