This document describes the installation of GLOBALvalidator Version 3.0 SP3.<br />
3 <strong>Installation</strong> Requirements<br />
To allow a smooth installation of the product the following installation requirements must be satisfied.<br />
3.1 Client Side Requirements<br />
If GLOBALvalidator will be installed on user’s Personal Computer, the following software must be available<br />
on the PC:<br />
Windows Vista SP1, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Server 2003 SP2, Windows Server 2008,<br />
Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012<br />

Admin rights for the user performing the installation<br />
Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0<br />

A PDF Viewer Application (Adobe Acrobat Reader or other) installed as default application to<br />
open PDF report files.<br />
Microsoft installer to process MSI files.<br />
3.2 Server Side Requirements<br />
<strong>Installation</strong> in a Citrix / MS Terminal Services Environment: The application may also be installed in a<br />
Citrix or Microsoft Terminal Services environment. In this case Adobe Reader or another PDF viewer<br />
application must be installed on the server.<br />

4 <strong>Installation</strong> Steps to be executed on the Client<br />
4.1 <strong>Installation</strong> of GLOBALvalidator<br />
A Setup Wizard will guide you through the client side installation:<br />
1. Execute the GLOBALvalidator Setup program (click on the MSI file to open it with Microsoft installer)<br />
and use the “Next” button to proceed.<br />
2. Use the “Browse” and “Disk Usage” buttons to choose a location if the default is not acceptable<br />
(Use the chosen value for a substitution within the following sections, too).<br />
<strong>Installation</strong>-folder: C:\Program Files\EXTEDO\GLOBALvalidator\<br />
3. Proceed with the “Next” and “Install” buttons until the installation begins.<br />
4. The installation wizard copies the program files to the specified directory.<br />
5. Common files available for other EXTEDO software will be installed to the common application<br />
data directory for all users, the subfolder name corresponds to the version number of the Validation<br />
Library:<br />
C:\[common appl]\EXTEDO\Core\Validation Library\[version]\<br />
This may take several minutes.<br />
The common application data directory (“common appl”) location is controlled by the operating<br />
system.<br />
On Windows 7 /Windows 8 systems this folder usually is located in:<br />
C:\ProgramData\<br />
On Windows XP systems this folder usually is located in:<br />
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\<br />
6. Use the “Finish” button to finish the setup when it is available.<br />
4.2 <strong>Installation</strong> of License Files<br />
<br />
<br />
The free of charge version is similar to the former EURSvalidator and is still known under this<br />
name. It provides some basic validation sets, for example EU, CH and HR. For this version no license<br />
is required.<br />
GLOBALvalidator needs license files to enable the full range of available Validation Sets. These<br />
files are delivered separately and have to be copied into the installation folder<br />
(C:\Program Files\EXTEDO\GLOBALvalidator\).<br />
