checklist for residents to run through this spring:<br />
Smoke alarms – Make sure you have a working smoke alarm on<br />
each floor of your home.<br />
Practise your Home Escape Plan if a fire were to occur at night.<br />
Ring 999 in the event of a fire – Don’t attempt to tackle it yourself.<br />
Instructions – Read safety instructions for DIY tools carefully<br />
to avoid accidents.<br />
Never attempt complex DIY electrical wiring yourself.<br />

Be hoax aware during school holidays: Making a hoax call to<br />
the emergency services is a criminal offence and we are asking<br />
residents, especially parents, to make young people aware of<br />
the consequences of making a hoax 999 call.<br />
Diary dates: Open evening for those thinking about becoming<br />
an On-call firefighter at any station in Cambridgeshire. Monday,<br />
