The <strong>Sparta</strong> <strong>Chamber</strong> Council, an affiliate <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Sussex</strong> <strong>County</strong><br />
<strong>Chamber</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Commerce</strong>, continues to grow and includes<br />
membership <strong>of</strong> local businesses. The <strong>Chamber</strong> Council issues being<br />
discussed at this time include: local advertising, community issues,<br />
business development and growth, community activities and<br />

ABOUT SPARTA TOWNSHIP<br />
<strong>Sparta</strong> Township is a beautiful residential community <strong>of</strong> 39 square<br />
miles nestled in the <strong>Sussex</strong> <strong>County</strong> countryside. Loaded with lakes,<br />
rolling hills, and acres <strong>of</strong> farmland, <strong>Sparta</strong> <strong>of</strong>fers its 19,000 residents<br />
a landscape <strong>of</strong> natural beauty combined with a wide variety <strong>of</strong><br />
amenities <strong>of</strong>fered by both the township and the local business<br />
community highlighted in this directory. All this within 45 miles <strong>of</strong><br />
New York City! It is no wonder <strong>Sparta</strong> has long been a desirable<br />
location to live and work in Northwestern New Jersey.<br />
<strong>Sparta</strong> has 11 private lake communities spread throughout the<br />
Township. The largest <strong>of</strong> these is Lake Mohawk, whose Boardwalk<br />
and White Deer Plaza are listed on the State and National Historic<br />
Registers. Restaurants and a smattering <strong>of</strong> small shops and <strong>of</strong>fices<br />
comprise the plaza and boardwalk area <strong>of</strong>fering residents and visitors<br />
a scenic spot to stroll, shop and eat.<br />
