Clayton Gardinier<br />

Clayton Gardiner has a doctorate in geology and is an engineer/scientist<br />

working in Houston. After teaching for five years as an Assistant<br />

Professor at Georgia State Auburn Universities and working twenty<br />

years in the diamond industry, he moved to Houston to work for an oil<br />

and gas field-related company.<br />

Photography has been a hobby for Clayton since 2000; he became<br />

serious about image making in 2007. He works predominately as a<br />

landscape and nature photographer but does a little abstract work as<br />

well. Clayton’s preferred medium is black and white; although, he<br />

does some color work when it is appropriate.<br />

He is a member of the NW Houston Photo Club where he is the Program<br />

Chairman as well as the Club’s past President and Competition<br />

Chair. He also is a member of the Houston Photographic Society, <strong>Art</strong>ists<br />

of Texas, Texas Miksang Group and Sheryl Brown <strong>Art</strong> and Creative<br />

Coaching on Facebook.<br />

Clayton’s images have been exhibited at the Pearl Fincher Museum<br />

of <strong>Fine</strong> <strong>Art</strong>s – 2013, Barbara Bush Library – 2013, Houston Public Library<br />

– 2014 and the Davis and Company Gallery – 2014. One of his<br />

images at the Davis exhibit was sold at that exhibition.<br />

Clayton’s images are forever evolving and he is constantly looking for<br />

new venues to expand his expertise.<br />
