ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY
University of Mysore is one of the oldest Universities in
India. The University came into existence on 25th July
1916 as the sixth in the Country and the very first in
the erstwhile princely State of Mysore. Sri Krishnaraja
Wodeyar IV, the benevolent ruler of Mysore and Sir M.
Vishweshwarya, Engineer – Statesman and the then
Dewan of Mysore were the pioneers in establishing this
University. University of Mysore became autonomous in
1956 and the Post-Graduate Centre at the picturesque
environs of the Kukkarahalli Lake was established in
1960. The national poet Dr. K.V. Puttappa (KUVEMPU),
former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Mysore and
Jnana Peetha Awardee, named the post graduate campus
as “MANASAGANGOTRI”, meaning the eternal
spring of knowledge.
CENTRE FOR INFORMATION SCIENCE AND TECH-
NOLOGY (CIST)
The Centre for Information Science & Technology (CIST)
is established by the University during 2000-2001 for all
kinds of human computer interaction programs. The
CIST offers demand based IT training programs for the
benefit of young men and women. The primary objective
of the Centre is to provide adequate knowledge and
training with hands-on experience for an alternate career
path in the field of IT. The CIST conducts Post-
Graduate Diploma, Diploma and Certificate Courses on
various themes of IT.
ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
The IT industry has great scope for people as it provides
employment to technical and non-technical graduates
and has the capability to generate huge foreign exchange
inflow for India. India exports softwares and
services to approximately 95 countries in the world. This
concept is applicable to almost all the fields. The recent
trends developed in over information technology have to
be seriously discussed.
India has emerged as the Asian destination of choice for
animation. With the rapid expansion in the animation industry
.The art of animation, a creative field dominated by
the West, now has India running as one of the most serious
contenders.
Media and Entertainment are the most emerging and
fast growing industries in India and the whole world is
taking notice of the efficiency, skill and talent available
in the country in these fields. To aid further growth of
these industries, it is extremely important that formal
and professional level workshops, Discussions and
seminars are the best platforms.
In order to discuss and deliberate on these issues,
Two Day National Seminar On Recent Trends In Information
Technology And Animation, Visual Effects And
Gaming is organized by the Centre for Information
Science and Technology (CIST), Manasagangotri, Mysore-6
The Conference provides platform for the scientific
information interchange between students, theoreticians
and researchers. It also aims to promote research
and developmental activities in the related
fields and also seeks to foster the interdisciplinary exchange
of ideas leading to significant advances in information
technology and its allied applications.
SUBMISSION OF PAPER
The last date for submission of the full length paper (not exceeding
five pages) is 30 10.2012 The paper must be neatly
typed with double spacing using Times New Roman (Font
Size 12) in A4 size white paper with one inch margin on all
sides and submitted as a hard copy as well as soft copy. The
name of the author presenting the paper should be in italics.
The paper can also be sent by e-mail. Those who submit their
paper through e-mail should send a hard copy by ordinary
post addressing to the Organizing Secretary. The eligibility of
the paper for oral / poster will be decided by the organizers.

PROCEDURE FOR REGISTRATION
The conference will be a great platform for industry-academic
interaction. The Information Technology and animation industry
has made a great revolution and has its application in almost
all disciplines. Participants will be exposed to the latest
innovations and concepts in the field of information technology
and applied fields. Such a unique conference is first of its kind.
This prestigious event will inspire the students and teachers
intellectually. Intimation of the acceptance of the paper will be
communicated through e-mail on 4.11.2012.
REGISTRATION FEE
Participants are requested to submit their registration form
along with registration fee (Rs.1200/- for industrialists, Rs.800/
- for academic and Rs.300/- for students and research scholars)
in the form of bank draft drawn in favor of the Director, Centre
for Information Science and Technology (CIST), Manasagangotri,
Mysore 570 006, payable at State Bank of Mysore, KSOU
Branch, Mysore-6. Spot registration on the first day of the conference
is also accepted but their paper will not be included in
the Conference proceedings.
ACCOMMODATION
Accommodation will be arranged only on prior request for the
out side participants. However the participants have to bear the
expenditure.
