where we are ... graduations... ’51 Junie Baudin Bordelon was honored by the Catholic Council of Women in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, for her past service as president of the organization. She is the longest-serving president of the group. ’79 Selena Courtney-Koro, P.T., has been a physical therapist for 23 years. In May, she earned her doctorate of science in physical therapy at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, with a 3.8 GPA. ’83 Michelle Brassett Jenson, PhD, is a forensic DNA analyst with Trinity DNA Solutions in Milton, Florida. She lives in Pace, Florida, with husband Eric, a chemical engineer, and their two daughters. She is a volunteer with her church’s youth group and the local select soccer team. ’84 Dr. Anne Mary Couvillon Orr was invited to address the annual meeting of the American Orthodontic Society in Chicago. She is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of LSU who maintains a private dentistry practice with her husband, Dr. Chad Orr, in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. ’84 Lynn Lamousin is a freelance copywriter living in Baton Rouge. She received a Bordelon Jenson Lamousin “dishonorable mention” in the 2009 Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest, an international literary parody contest in which contestants write intentionally bad opening sentences for imaginary novels. ’84 Maria Prochaska Boudreaux was the featured artist in July at The Foyer in Baton Rouge. She owns Fleur De Me Designs and does reverse painting on glass, metal design and gilded and painted canvasses. ’87 Andrea Dragna teaches French at McKinley High School in Baton Rouge and received a CODOFIL scholarship to study French this summer at the Universite de Mons in Belgium. ’91 Claire Cowan Barbetti was awarded the Dissertation Fellowship for Duquesne University Graduate School (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) in 2008. She received the Graduate Teaching Award in English Barbetti in 2009 and was offered a visiting professorship at Duquesne for 2009-2010. She is married to Victor, a psychologist. They live in Pittsburgh with their three children. ’99 Megan Barrios is studying voice in Frankfurt, Germany, and will audition for an agent in September. She received her undergraduate degree in 2003 in vocal performance from LSU and her master’s in 2006 in vocal performance from Indiana University. ’99 Elizabeth Cowan Wells received her master’s in English from LSU in 2005 and worked at Boston’s Wellington Management in the legal division until last fall. She and husband Court spent 2008-2009 in Lyon, France, while he pursued research on his dissertation. She is now at home with their first child, born in April. ’00 Megan Brooks graduated in May from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine with a doctor of medicine degree. She received her master’s of public health in 2008 from the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health. She began her residency in internal medicine in July at the Duke University Medical Center. ’00 Virginia Bernard lives and works in New York City, where she is an assistant project manager for Coach International Architecture. Wells Bernard Since 2006, she has designed and built more than 50 retail stores in 14 countries. She graduated summa cum laude in 2005 from the Savannah College of Art and Design. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in architecture. ’00 Catherine Hensley is a proofreader/copy editor at the New England Journal of Medicine/ Massachusetts Medical Society in Waltham, Massachusetts. ’01 Jeanne Svendson recently exhibited a group of 24 photographs in her show Etudes de Specimens at the Galerie Rue Du Pont in Breaux Bridge. She owns JES Photography and Fine Svendson Art, which focuses on architectural work, some portraits and personal fine art commissions. ’01 Carmen Gealogo-Estela received her juris doctor degree in May from Loyola University in New Orleans. ’02 Leslie Ziober was awarded the 2009 Law Student Pro Bono Award by the Louisiana State Bar Association. She was recognized for her work in 2007 when she organized a group of LSU law students to travel to Biloxi for Hurricane Katrina relief efforts; in 2008 for her work in Lake Charles after Hurricane Rita; and in 2009 for her efforts along the Texas Gulf Coast after Hurricane Ike. In three years, she amassed more than 600 hours of pro bono service. ’03 Katie Ferrara graduated in May from LSU Health Sciences in New Orleans with a degree in clinical laboratory sciences. She was on the dean’s list and graduated with a 3.3 GPA. She is employed at Our Lady of the Lake as a Ferrara medical technologist in the Blood Bank. ’03 Glencora Cowan is pursuing her doctorate in English at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, where she was awarded a teaching assistantship. accolades ... what we’re doing and 2008-2009 teaching Italian in an all-girls school in Washington, D.C. ’03 Veronica Cowan received her master’s in English in May from Catholic University of America and is now pursuing her doctorate there. Her focus is medieval Glencora Cowan and renaissance literature. ’04 Danielle Clary is a 2008 cum laude graduate of Spring Hill College with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. ’04 Brittany Creehan graduated in May from Auburn University with Veronica Cowan bachelor of architecture and bachelor of interior architecture degrees. She studied in Tuscany in May and received recognition for her proposed student residences around a Tuscan villa. She lives in Birmingham, where she will work for Davis Architects. ’04 Rebecca Katherine Ferrell graduated in May from LSU’s College of Engineering with a bachelor of science in chemical engineering and minors in chemistry and mathematics. She works as a process automation engineer with Dow Chemical in Freeport, Texas. ’05 Sarah DeLeo is the recipient of a National Science Foundation Graduate Fellowship at LSU. She will pursue doctoral studies in biomedical engineering after which she plans to pursue a career as a university professor and researcher. ’05 Mallory Morgan graduated cum laude in May from Samford University (Birmingham, Alabama) with a bachelor of science degree in sports medicine/pre-med. ’05 Amanda Briody graduated in May from the University of Georgia with bachelor of science degrees in biology and psychology. This fall, she will teach secondary biology in Baltimore, Maryland, as part of Teach for America. She will attend Johns Hopkins University to study for a master of arts in teaching degree. ’05 Elizabeth Miller graduated in May with a degree in journalism. She Miller has started a new publication called The CC Lagniappe, which will cover the mid-city area of Baton Rouge. ’05 Stephanie Reed graduated Phi Beta Kappa in May from LSU with a degree in English literature. She was accepted to the MBA program at the LSU College of Business Administration for the fall 2009 semester. ’05 Laura Rachal will attend the Ecole normale superieure de Lyon in France to pursue a master’s in biosciences concentrating on neurodevelopment and toxicology. She will attend on a full scholarship. She recently graduated summa cum laude from Rachal LSU with degrees in biological sciences and French. ’05 Lindsay Key graduated in May from LSU’s Manship School of Mass Communication. She will spend the next two years teaching elementary special education in the Dallas Independent School District with Teach for America. ’05 Kaitlyn Guerin was selected as a collegiate development consultant for Delta Gamma sorority. Following a highly competitive selection process, she will spend the next year traveling the country to visit Delta Gamma chapters, evaluating their operations. ’06 Kelli Huff is a junior at LSU where she is a premed major and a member of Delta Gamma sorority. She is president of the LSU Panhellenic Council, the governing body of all sororities. She spent last summer volunteering in Krabi, Thailand, with OpenMinds Projects, teaching English in the mornings and working in a PLEASE KEEP IN TOUCH! Send us your news. She is a senior at LSU, studying in the certified internal auditing program. ’07 Katie Schluter was the recipient of a scholarship at LSU to study in the Ubbaye Valley region of France this summer. She studied French in the mornings and served an internship at an equestrian center in the afternoons.
