June 2013 <strong>Condo</strong> <strong>Letter</strong><br />

It’s almost Holiday Season! June has passed us and 2013 is officially “half full.”<br />

Mahalo and Thank you to all of our owners. We appreciate your support as we grow, learn and make changes to<br />

better serve you. If you have any feedback or suggestions for us please send them over to us. We always wel<strong>com</strong>e<br />

suggestions from our owners and we will always take those suggestions into consideration as we continue to grow<br />

our business.<br />

The summer of 2013 was a promising time and we are seeing that <strong>com</strong>e to pass. June ended with almost double the<br />

revenue from last year and double the room nights. July has already exceeded last year’s actuals and August is<br />

pacing right along. September and October are of concern, but we have been seeing a drop in airfare in the past<br />

week. We hope that it continues to drop and last minutes bookings will increase.<br />

November and December are <strong>com</strong>ing along and we are seeing more bookings <strong>com</strong>ing in. January and February<br />

continue to do well and we also are seeing more bookings <strong>com</strong>e in during that time. If you are planning on<br />

occupying your unit during the first quarter please make your reservation now. Please remember when making your<br />

booking online, if you do not receive a confirmation number then the reservation is not valid. Reservations can be<br />

made on Ownerlink, by email and as always by phone.<br />

September hosts the annual Westjet sales trip and the Homeaway Software conference. Tiana and Marina will be<br />

attending the Westjet sales trip in Canada. Westjet is a Travel Agency/wholesaler and they are also an airline carrier<br />

and provide many flights to Hawaii, Maui in particular. Last year we gained new business through the Westjet sales<br />

trip and we hope to continue to grow our Travel Agent business this year. The annual Homeaway software<br />

conference will be held at the same time. Melanie and I will be attending the Homeaway conference this year and<br />

we are excited to hear about how our reservations software has improved and how it will affect business.<br />

Airfare drives our economy, so we are happy to see the prices starting to drop. Allegiant Airlines is starting flights<br />

from Fresno and Las Vegas to Honolulu at a good price. Hawaiian Airlines has partnered up with American Airlines<br />

for earning miles. You may earn HawaiianMiles on American Airlines on flights within the continental US.<br />

Last month we informed you of a discounted price on the Kaba room safes. The special discount has expired. If<br />

there are still owners who are interested please let us know as soon as possible and we will try to get the discounted<br />

rate if possible.<br />

We have officially gone “Live” with our new mobile App. We ask that all of our owners download our App and<br />

share it with family, friends and guests. How the App works is: three (3) days prior to arrival we will send the guest<br />

an email invitation with a link to download the App. The App will have all of the guest’s check-in information. a<br />

<strong>com</strong>munication tool between MCH and the guest, guest can send maintenance requests to MCH, view all unit<br />

information and amenities, view all of MCH inventory, ability to search availability for future dates, MCH contact<br />

information, local re<strong>com</strong>mendations, GPS, ability to share condo information and More! This App is very versatile<br />

and will provide a better experience for our guests. For those owners who contact their guests directly, we will send<br />

you the information to give to your guests so they can have access. Anyone can download the App, but in order to<br />

login to your specific reservation you must be a guest in our system and we must grant access. To download the<br />

App, visit the App store and search: Maui <strong>Condo</strong> and Home. If you have any questions about how the App works,<br />

please contact Marina.<br />

We appreciate your efforts in making the correct reservation type in Ownerlink. Please remember it is very<br />

important that you choose the correct booking type. If you are making a reservation for a guest please use<br />

the drop down to choose “guest of owner”. If you do not choose the correct reservation type we will have to<br />

cancel your booking and make a new one once it <strong>com</strong>es through and your reservation number will not match.<br />

Unit Quality Control: Wireless internet is an industry standard. Guests expect to have wireless internet access and<br />

we will have it installed upon guest request. If you do not have WiFi and would like to arrange for it to be installed<br />

please contact Tiana Raymondo.<br />

Owner Updates:<br />

Maui Vista – The AOAO now has a new general manager. We have not been given any details yet.<br />

Maui Kamaole – There will be work done to the roof’s as well as termite tenting <strong>com</strong>ing up. No rentals will be<br />

allowed during the tenting. We are currently waiting to hear from the AOAO about scheduling.<br />
