ABOUT THE ASIA PACIFIC DENTAL FEDERATION (APDF)<br />

The Asia Pacific <strong>Dental</strong> Federation (APDF) was formally inaugurated in 1955 without much fanfare. However<br />

from a very modest and uncertain beginning it has grown from nine interested countries to its present strength<br />

of 26 countries widely spread out in the Asia Pacific.<br />

In 1967 the World <strong>Dental</strong> Federation (FDI) recognized the APDF as its Regional Organization and hence the<br />

double title APDF/APRO (Asia Pacific <strong>Dental</strong> Federation/ Asia Pacific Regional Organization) came into being.<br />

Since that time the link with the parent body remains strong. It continues to work along very similar lines to FDI.<br />

All information from FDI is available to the Regional Organization and consequently a comprehensive coverage<br />

of all aspects of world dentistry is documented with particular emphasis on the needs of the Region.<br />

The APDF/APRO is a very active organization, truly becoming the authoritative voice of dentistry in the region.<br />

Its congresses designated Asia Pacific <strong>Dental</strong> Congresses have become a major event on the international dental<br />

calendar and the premier event in the Asia Pacific circuit.<br />

Inaugurated in 1938, the <strong>Malaysian</strong> <strong>Dental</strong> <strong>Association</strong> has a rich history as the peak body representing the<br />

dental profession in Malaysia. For more than 70 years the <strong>Malaysian</strong> <strong>Dental</strong> <strong>Association</strong> has strived to achieve<br />

its main objectives including promoting the art of science and dentistry and maintaining the honour and interest<br />

of the dental profession.<br />

private property of participants and accompanying persons, either during or indirectly arising from the 35th Asia<br />

We recommend that all participants take out personal travel and health insurance for the trip.<br />

Climate<br />

Malaysia enjoys sub tropical conditions throughout the year with temperatures hovering around 32 degrees<br />

Celsius (90 degrees Fahrenheit).<br />

Dress Code<br />

Clothing is smart casual for all occasions. Please bring an umbrella, sunglasses and walking shoes.<br />

Standard <strong>Malaysian</strong> time is eight hours ahead of GMT<br />

Visa Requirements<br />

Passport of any other nationality must have at least 6 months remaining validity from the day of entry into the<br />

THE CONFERENCE VENUE<br />

Overview of Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre<br />

The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) is the<br />

venue of the 21st Asia Pacific Cancer Conference,<br />

which runs from 10th- 12th November 2011.<br />

Designed to be a "city within a city", this 40 hectare<br />

(100-acre) site includes the KLCC park and PETRONAS<br />

Twin Towers to lend a prestigious address to the<br />

Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.<br />

Stylish, functional and flexible, Kuala Lumpur<br />

Convention Centre is amongst the world's best<br />

when it comes to hosting exhibitions, conferences, meetings, seminars or special events. The centre offers<br />

state-or-the-art wireless LAN, telecommunications and digital audiovisual facilities allowing interactive<br />

scientific sessions.<br />

Transportation & Security<br />

The centre is well serviced by a modern and efficient subway train<br />

system linking all major parts of the city. Situated in the city centre<br />

the convention centre is within walking distance of many major<br />

hotels and hotels apartments.<br />

The centre has a fully integrated security system and is manned 24<br />

hours a day by trained security personnel. With over 200 close circuit<br />

security cameras throughout the centre, the building is one of the<br />

most secure centre in the city.<br />

The 35th Asia Pacific <strong>Dental</strong> Congress 2013 (APDC2013) Sponsorship Programme has been devised to ensure<br />

that all sponsors will be able to derive maximum exposure for their investment.<br />

There are three tiers of sponsorship – Platinum, Gold and Silver. Differing benefits and rewards are accorded to<br />

each sponsorship tier. Specific packages have been developed for your convenience.<br />

first-come first-served basis Notwithstanding, the APDC2013 Secretariat aspires to ensure that the distribution<br />

Application for Sponsorship & Exhibition:<br />

Once a Sponsorship Booking Form is received a contract will be sent to you for signature with an accompanying<br />

invoice. This contract must be signed and returned with a non refundable 50% deposit payment to the<br />

Sponsorship.<br />

Upon receipt of the Sponsorship Booking Form the organizer will reserve the items listed in it. Completion of the<br />

Booking Form by the Sponsor shall be considered as a commitment to purchase the items.<br />

Exhibition booths will be reserved on first come first serve basis. The organizer reserves the right to re-allocate,<br />

change the size and dimension of the exhibition booth and to undertake structural changes to the exhibition, as<br />

many as may be deemed necessary prior to the exhibition.<br />

• The sponsoring company, in addition to the sponsorship fee, must cover all speakers’ expenses,<br />

including registration fees, accommodation and travel expenses. This also applies in the case<br />

where the Symposium speakers have already been invited by the Meeting.<br />

• Satellite Symposia programs are subject to approval by the scientific committee of the Meeting.<br />

In case where the scientific committee will disapprove the Satellite Symposia program, each<br />

party will be entitled cancel the Satellite Symposia booking without paying any penalty for the<br />

cancellation or for any damages caused by the cancellation to the other party. Accordingly upon<br />

such cancellation neither of the parties will have any claims, demands, suits, towards the other.<br />

Sponsorship of speakers plays a major role in the Congress success and provides a diverse faculty. Sponsorship<br />

covers the speakers' direct expenses - flight ticket, hotel accommodation and registrations fee, which will be<br />

handled by the Secretariat:<br />

Speakers from Europe USD 10,000<br />

Speakers from the rest of the world USD 5,000<br />

• Speakers will be notified of the name of their sponsoring company<br />

• Sponsor's logo with hyperlink on APDC2013 website<br />

FINAL PROGRAMME<br />

The Final Programme, which will be inserted in the delegates’ bags, will contain vast and critical information<br />

about the Congress, the venue and country hosting the conference. Understandably, it will be very much referred<br />

to and would provide an ideal platform to reach out to your present and potential clients.<br />

The commercial/technical Exhibition will be held in the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre to maximize<br />

Exhibitors exposure to the delegates.<br />

SPACE ONLY RENTAL (Minimum of 36 sqm)<br />

The price for space only is USD500 per square meter. This includes:<br />

• 2 Exhibitors' badges<br />

• Cleaning of public areas and gangways<br />

• Use of electricity (water) at your exhibition space.<br />

3m x 3m Standard Shell Scheme Stand Rental: USD 4,000 per stand<br />

Each 3m x 3m Standard Shell Scheme Stand includes:<br />

Partitions, carpeted floor, one information counter, one waste basket, two folding chairs, fascia board with<br />

company's name in English, 200 watt spotlights and one single phase socket.<br />

The package also includes the following:<br />

• Exhibitor's Manual.<br />

• Company logo to appear as exhibitor within the exhibition section in APCC 2011 website.<br />

• Two Exhibitor badges. A fixed number of exhibitors per stand are imposed.<br />

• Cleaning of public areas and gangways.<br />

Space Allocation<br />

Early booking is recommended to avoid disappointment. All exhibition space is based on a first come, first<br />

served basis.<br />

Exhibitor Badges<br />

All exhibitors are required to be registered and will receive a badge displaying the exhibiting company name. Any<br />

additional exhibitors will be charged an additional fee of USD100.<br />

Exhibitor registrations allow access to the exhibition area only and shall be used by companies' staff only.<br />

Exhibitors' Technical Manual<br />

An Exhibitors' Technical Manual outlining all technical aspects of exhibiting will be circulated 3 months prior to<br />

the Congress. It will include the following:<br />
