Instructors <br />

John McLain, a PGE customer technical service Project Manager, has 40 years of <br />

wide-­‐range utility experience from distribution field operations to energy-­‐efficiency <br />

programs. He completed his MBA in organizational effectiveness and is an adjunct <br />

faculty member at Clackamas Community College teaching energy resource <br />

management. <br />

Rick Durst, Energy <strong>Information</strong> Services Program Manager, Portland General <br />

Electric, EPA. Rick Durst has 20 years in the electric utility industry plus 10 years as an <br />

electrician in the U.S. Nuclear Submarine Service. He has led PGE’s Energy <br />

<strong>Information</strong> Services program for the last 7 years and also manages PGE’s Demand <br />

BuyBack, Plug in Vehicle and Web-­‐based Power Quality Monitoring programs. Rick <br />

also serves as a board member for the Oregon Association or Professional Energy <br />

Managers. <br />

Greg Nelson, Commercial/Industrial Energy Specialist, Portland General Electric, <br />

PE. Greg is a mechanical engineer with more than twelve years experience in <br />

commercial and industrial systems design and operation. Greg specializes in <br />

identifying energy efficiency improvement opportunities with businesses, schools, <br />

governments, and other non-­‐profit organizations. <br />
