or approved by the Commissioner and of the fees having been<br />
collected thereon.<br />
7. Hoarding shall not be permitted if the Commissioner is of the view<br />
that:<br />
a. Any hoarding, which is likely to be confused with an authorized<br />
traffic sign signal.<br />
b. Any hoarding erected in such manner and such places, which will<br />
cause obstruction or interference with the visibility of approaching<br />
merging or intersecting traffic.<br />
c. No hoarding shall be permitted in building of archaeological<br />
historical or heritage importance or public building.<br />
d. No hoardings shall be permitted, which is likely to obstruct the<br />
view of any building or monument of historical, archaeological,<br />
heritage importance or coming in the way of the elevation of any<br />
such building or monument.<br />
e. No hording shall be permitted which is declared dangerous (partly<br />
or fully) or has been issued with the notice under the Punjab<br />
<strong>Municipal</strong> <strong>Corporation</strong> Act, 1976.<br />
f. If it offends good taste, decency, public moral and aesthetics.<br />
g. Any hording which can distract the vehicular traffic.<br />
h. If the advertisement is not in conformity with the general building<br />
facade of the street/roads.<br />
i. If it violates the building byelaws of <strong>Municipal</strong> <strong>Corporation</strong>.<br />
j. It is against public interest.<br />
8. (i) No advertisement projecting over any public street or place or land<br />
vested in the <strong>Municipal</strong> <strong>Corporation</strong> shall be retained, placed, put up or<br />
fixed at a height less than 8 feet or as specified in the permission and over<br />
all the advertisement projection on the public street should not more than 6<br />
inches in thickness at right angles to its surface.<br />
(ii) No hoarding shall be permitted in the residential areas. No sign shall<br />
be attached in any way to any tree or shrubs.<br />
(iii) No trade and business sign, messages, posters or printing material of<br />
any nature shall be pasted on to any supporting column, pillar or post. No<br />
advertisement shall be permitted which obstructs any pedestrian<br />
movement, partially or wholly, fire escape, door or window openings or<br />
interferes with opening required for light and ventilation and further<br />
obstructs any fire safety transit exist space.<br />
9. Illuminated Advertisements: -<br />
Illuminated advertisements of the following descriptions are objectionable<br />
from the angle of traffic safety and shall not be allowed: -<br />
a. Illuminated advertisement of such intensity or brilliance as to cause<br />
glare or impair vision of the driver or pedestrian or which otherwise<br />
interface with any operations of driving.
