The Sounds of Summer concert series returns with a line-up of exciting entertainment. All performances are FREE so pack a picnic, pull up a lawn chair and enjoy your summer evenings at the Fred P. Hall Amphitheater, 262 E. Palatine Road. Performances begin at 8:00 pm and run approximately 90 minutes. In the event of inclement weather, performances will be canceled. Wednesday, June 11 Palatine’s own 75 member ensemble will present an evening of light summer fare with a variety of selections ranging from classical to popular. Friday, June 13 Relive the days of the Beatles! Using identical instruments the legendary group used, this Palatine favorite has an uncanny ability to reproduce the vocal style and harmonies of the Beatles. Not only will they bring back memories for those who were there, but they bring to life the sounds for those who never had a chance to hear it live. Friday, June 20 Motor City Music Machine is Detroit’s premier Motown, R&B, and Blues band. Featuring the sweet tenor vocals of “Blue Jay” and the big energy of the Music Machine, MCMM rekindles America’s love affair with Motown’s golden era of hit music. You will hear from such legendary artists as The Temptations, Smoky Robinson, Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder. Wednesday, June 25 Hillbilly Rockstarz specializes in covering the latest hits in country music and some of your older favorites, always true to the original. Simply put, this band’s got you covered. Wednesday, July 9 Palatine’s own 75 member ensemble will present an evening of light summer fare with a variety of selections ranging from classical to popular. Wednesday, July 16 Serendipity is a stroke of sonic good fortune forged from the El Rey Music scene in Arlington Heights. The band has talent that far exceeds the sum of its experience. These girls are young, but take them lightly at your own peril. They perform rock, pop, dance covers and originals. Wednesday, July 23 Classical Blast is a unique band dedicated to bringing the classical arts to mainstream rock & pop music. These classically trained musicians love to rock! Their influences have no boundaries. Classical Blast’s style, technique and tools breathe new life into rock music. From Bach to classic rock to metal to pop, you’ll find their approach to music a refreshing change. It’s the past, present and future brought together in perfect harmony! Friday, July 25 Triadd performs fun, high-energy classic rock favorites in an electro-acoustic format. You will love the pro-vocal harmonies. And get this; three out of the four musicians grew up in Palatine. We like those local boys! Wednesday, June 18 ’ The Palatine Park District’s own Children’s Concert Choir, under the artistic direction of Rachel Rosellini, will present their 19th concert on the Fred P.
