Description:
Mold Spore Knockdown is a unique brand of mold encapsulant designed for IAQ and Remediation
professionals for specific applications like HVAC, duct work, crawlspaces, pipes, wall cavities and other areas
that are dark, humid and lack ventilation. Mold Spore Knockdown products are used to block staining,
eliminate odors, prevent water intrusion and prevent mold growth on the coating surface. Tested to the
most ASTM standards in the industry, Mold Spore Knockdown products contain durable, non-leaching
EPA registered antimicrobials to permanently guard against and help protect the coating surface from mold,
mildew, odor-causing microorganisms, black fungal staining, bacterial and fungal slime films. They can be
used on most interior and exterior substrates including wood, masonry, metal, fiberglass and most other
construction materials.
Product Overview:
Mold Spore Knockdown is a unique functionalized polymer system that is non-permanent. It is designed to
wet airborne and surface mold spores, and impart a mold resistant barrier to treated surfaces. It is used in
pre-treating areas previous to remediation and/or mitigation due to scheduling delays, budget constraints
or any other delay of final surface coatings.
In Mold Remediation applications, Mold Spore Knockdown effectively wets fugitive mold spores, penetrating
crevices and hard to reach areas, and reducing airborne mold counts. After wetting mold spores, Mold Spore
Knockdown effectively encapsulates mold spores forming a clear, breathable film that continues to inhibit
mold growth even in humid environments.
It can also be applied to concrete, stone, and wooden surfaces to form a non-permanent mold resistant
barrier. Mold Spore Knockdown is a unique technology that is water-based, formaldehyde free, safe &

Storage & Green Disposal:

APPLICATION AND SAFETY PROTOCOL
Mold Spore Knockdown is a concentrated formula and should be diluted 16:1 (water to
concentrate). Apply only to clean, dry surfaces. Do not apply surfaces having a temperature
of less than 40°F.
Apply evenly to surfaces at the rate of 600-800 ft/gal until a uniform film remains on the
surface. It can be used at higher coverages on hard non-porous surfaces of up to 1000
ft/gal (such as tile, metal, or finished concrete). Spraying or brushing will give the most
uniform application.
SPRAY EQUIPMENT
Mold Spore Knockdown can be applied with virtually any type of coarse spray device
such as a trigger sprayer or low pressure (35-45 psi) dispenser with particle size production
of greater than 15 microns. Adjust spray pressure to keep particle size greater than 15
microns. Do not aerosolize or atomize. Avoid breathing spray mist.
IMPORTANT
When applying Mold Spore Knockdown proper personal protective equipment should
be used. Necessary equipment and clothing are the same as would be used when applying
other water based paints or coatings. Ensure that the application area is well ventilated
during application to avoid build–up of aerosolized coating. Appropriate respiratory
protection should be used when applying by spraying in nonventilated areas. Use of a
respirator with organic vapor cartridges is suggested if adequate ventilation can not be
achieved. After application of Mold Spore Knockdown coating continue to ventilate the
area to ensure proper drying of the coating.
CLEAN-UP
Use fresh water to clean equipment before product dries. Dry product may be removed
with water.
LIMITATIONS
Do not store or apply below 40°F (4°C) or above 120°F (49°C). Protect from freezing
until dry. Surface must be clean, dry and free of wax, grease, oil, dirt, and other surface
contaminants before the product is applied. This product does not protect users or others
against bacteria, viruses, germs, or other disease organisms. It does not take the place of
normal cleaning & disinfecting procedures. For use in interior and unconditioned spaces.
This product is not a replacement for proper maintenance. It will not prevent or protect
from cracking, settling or warping that is common to all construction.
