Saturday 7th March<br />
Maxi Distance - Individual and Team - 06:30 onwards<br />
Olympic Distance - Individual and Team - 08:00 onwards<br />
Sprint Distance - Individual and Team - 10:30 onwards<br />
Final briefings happen 15 minutes before the start of each wave.<br />
Your personal start time will be published on the website closer to race day.<br />
We reserve the right to amend the times should a delayed start occur<br />
or for any other safety reason.<br />
COURSE DESCRIPTIONS<br />
Maxi Distance, Olympic Distance & Sprint Distance:<br />
Individuals and Teams - all Age Group races take place on a SIMILAR course<br />
but with different lap quantities but please note the different buoys for different<br />
distances in the swim and different turning points for the bike and run.<br />
SPRINT DISTANCE OLYMPIC DISTANCE MAXI DISTANCE<br />
SWIM 1 lap = 500m 1 lap = 1500m 1 lap = 2000m<br />
BIKE 1 laps = 20km 2 laps = 40km 4 laps = 80km<br />
RUN 1 lap = 5km 2 lapS = 10km 4 laps = 20km<br />
SWIM START<br />
• The swim start assembly point is located on the beach next to the pontoons<br />
at <strong>Abu</strong> <strong>Dhabi</strong> Sailing and Yacht Club. Please arrive there 20 minutes before<br />
your wave start.<br />
• You must comply with the announcements of staff and officials.<br />
• Technical Officials will move each wave onto the beach in time for your<br />
start wave.<br />
• Your timing chip will be registered during the check-in onto the swim start.<br />
• Please line up over the whole length of the beach as instructed by the officials.<br />
• You may only get into the water and start the competition once the start signal<br />
has been given.<br />
SWIM COURSE<br />
SPRINT 500M / OLYMPIC 1500M / MAXI 2000M<br />
• <strong>Athlete</strong>s will start on the beach and follow the instructions of the race starter.<br />
• The swim course is a 500m single lap for the Sprint, 1500m single lap<br />
for the Olympic Distance and 2000m single lap for the Maxi Distance.<br />
• Lifeguards from our swim safety team will guide you and help if required.<br />
• If you get into difficulty, lie on your back and raise your arm. A lifeguard will<br />
come to you and, if necessary, arrange a safety boat to take you out of the water.<br />
• At the end of the swim, athletes will leave the water using the swim exit ramp<br />
attached to the pontoon.<br />
• <strong>Athlete</strong>s must follow the signs to Transition and merge with the runners already<br />
on route to Transition.<br />
• <strong>Athlete</strong>s will follow instructions from marshals and technical officials in order<br />
to flow through Transition in the correct way.<br />
• After your swim, you may only roll down your wetsuit as far as your hips until<br />
you have reached your bicycle. You may only take it off completely once you have<br />
reached your bike rack. Please store the suit next to your bike rack in a tidy<br />
fashion.<br />
• A small change tent has been provided for people wanting to change in privacy.
