Juliette’s vision. Juliette Gordon Low founded

the Girl Scouts in 1912 with a vision of bringing girls and

young women of all backgrounds together and giving

them the opportunity to develop self-reliance and

resourcefulness.

GSSI shares Juliette’s vision. The Girl Scouts

of Southern Illinois shares Juliette’s vision and our

volunteers, staff and Board of Directors are committed

to providing girls in our communities an outstanding

Girl Scout Leadership Experience that gives them the

courage, confidence and character to make the world

a better place for everyone.

Your Legacy. One of our greatest aspirations in life

is to leave a mark -- to make a difference. You can help

the Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois provide life-changing

services, programs and opportunities for nearly 14,000

girls and 4,800 adult volunteers. You can help GSSI

provide a premier leadership experience for girls -- an

organization that is dynamic, vibrant, and relevant and

meets the needs of our girls. You can help GSSI provide

girls leadership opportunities and challenges for growth

which will have a profound impact on the women they will

be tomorrow -- and the subsequent influence they will

have on their families, their communities, our nation and

the world.

Your gift. Your gift to the Juliette Gordon Low Society

will support girls and young women right here in southern

Illinois. Your gift will help fund girl program development,

assist in camp maintenance and improvements and

provide financial assistance so all girls, regardless of

their family’s financial ability, can benefit from the Girl

Scout Leadership Experience. Your JGL Society gift may

include:

- An outright gift of cash or publicly traded securities,

either one-time, or pledged over 3 years

- A bequest in your will naming GSSI as owner or

beneficiary of a paid-up life insurance policy or

retirement fund

- A transfer of your real estate to GSSI

- A donation of your collection of art, antiques, jewelry

or coins to GSSI
