Rogers - MWBE Consultant Marketing & Strategy Consultant Pat Stevenson A NOTE FROM THE PUBLISHER The HARLEM WEEK events concluded this week with “THE JOINTS ARE JUMPIN.” This was an event where eight restaurants and lounges in Harlem opened their doors with music, food and beverages for sampling this past Tuesday, August 28th. The Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce sponsored a bus for the tour to the eight locations. See the Harlem News coverage of this night out in Harlem on pages 12-13. Sadly, last weekend we also had a final celebration of the last night of Mobay, who is now closed. Therefore we hope you will patronize these establishments featured so that we will not have to celebrate any more closings of Harlem-grown businesses. Last weekend thousands participated in the Percy Sutton Run/Walk which was held with this year’s theme “Walk For Peace.” (see page 9) The Harlem News publications are free, however, you may miss an issue if you are not at one of our drop off points before they have all been taken. Don’t miss another issue. You can subscribe and received the paper in the mail every week. See our subscription form on page 21 and help us reach our goal of 200 new subscribers by September 10th.
