ZA-1450 UHF DF ANTENNA ARRAY
The DRS ZA-1450 Ultra High Frequency (UHF) Direction
Finding (DF) Antenna Array provides for DF measurement
of signals in the 500 to 3,000 megahertz frequency band.
The DF antenna array is designed for airborne operation
when mounted to the bottom of an aircraft fuselage, or for
ground-mobile operation on the top of a vehicle or
equipment shelter.
The DF antenna array is enclosed in an airborne-qualified
radome containing two Adcock-type sub-arrays, each
consisting of five passive folded dipole antenna elements
symmetrically arranged in a pentagon. The lower–band array
covers the frequency range from 500 to 1,000 megahertz,
and the upper–band array covers the frequency range from
1,000 to 3,000 megahertz.
ZA-1450 DF Antenna Array Interior
The ZA-1450 DF antenna array is used with any of DRS’s
range of high performance wideband Very High
Frequency/Ultra High Frequency (VHF/UHF) intercept and
DF systems, to provide high accuracy, high sensitivity
DF measurements.
