About the Program

What is the eScrip program?

Introduced by Electronic Scrip Inc. (ESI), the eScrip program is a fundraising program that allows

participating merchants to contribute a percentage of your grocery loyalty cards, credit card, and

debit/ATM card purchases to the school or organization of your choice. (See eScrip merchant list for

participating merchants and cards accepted by each merchant.) Paper-based fundraising programs

have become a proven benefit to schools, churches, organizations, and to all the children involved

with these participating organizations. The eScrip program brings an unprecedented ease of use and

many other advantages to fundraising programs -- it's the best vehicle for simple, year-round

fundraising. The eScrip program streamlines the whole fundraising process and puts everyone -- the

organization, the kids, their parents, and the community -- in the winner's circle.

How do I sign up?

Simply register online or contact your fundraising coordinator.

Is it a special card?

No, to use the program, you simply register your existing grocery loyalty cards, VISA, MasterCard,

American Express, Discover, diners Club, debit/ATM cards and merchant cards such as OfficeMax

and use them everytime you shop. These merchants have agreed to donate a percentage of your

expenditures to your enrolled school or organization.

How does the eScrip program work?

Supporters register any or all of their existing grocery loyalty, debit and credit cards for use in

the program.

Participating national, regional and local merchants will make contributions to enrolled

organizations, based on purchases made by supporters, who use their registered grocery

loyalty, debit and credit cards. The eScrip program will continually contract new merchants.

By using these registered cards at participating merchants, supporters generate donations

based on a percentage of purchases as determined by each merchant or service provider.

Every month the enrolled organizations receive all merchant contributions made on behalf of

all participants. A summarized report listing supporters, merchants, and contributions amounts

are available online.

What cards does the eScrip program accept for registration?

Grocery loyalty cards, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and debit/ATM cards.

eScrip - frequently asked questions

6/27/13 4:01 PM

Can I have family members register their cards?

Yes, our merchants include participants from across the United States. You simply send a registration

form to extended family/friends for their participation with the eScrip program. You may either register

online or download registration forms from our web site.

Can I enroll my spouse's card under my name?

Yes you can. You may list all household family cards under one supporter ID. If both spouses have

the same credit card number, you only need to list it once. If they have different card numbers, list all

card numbers in the database.

I currently purchase paper scrip, why should I do this?

The eScrip program is being offered as a convenient way to participate in scrip fundraising. With the

eScrip program, you do not need to pre-purchase paper certificates prior to making a purchase. Also,

you will not "run out" of paper certificates, since you always have your registered cards with you for

purchases. The eScrip program is also great for times you don't have scrip, last minute shopping,

holidays, travel, and business/corporate expenses. Also, the eScrip program covers a wide range of

merchants that organizations may not "stock" in paper. Merchants are pleased with the ease of the

eScrip program and the many compelling benefits it provides. Some merchants may discontinue their

paper program for the eScrip program.

Can card registrants support more than one organization?

Yes, the donation can be split up to three ways. You can easily select up to 3 groups during your

initial online registration or go to My eScrip to update your account information online.

How do card registrants change the organization they wish to support?

Go to My eScrip to update your account information online or send email to supporters@escrip.com.

Will other merchants be added to the eScrip merchant list?

ESI continues to work with and contract merchants from a broad cross section of categories to allow

supporters many choices in consumer spending that can now add up to increased contributions to

eScrip - frequently asked questions

6/27/13 4:01 PM

When do you add merchants? How do I find out about new merchants?

ESI is continuously negotiating with a large number of merchants. For the most up to date merchant

list - see our website at www.escrip.com

How can local merchants and retailers participate?

Any merchant who accepts a loyalty, credit/debit/ATM card transactions for payment can participate

in the program. If you know of any merchants you would like to have on the program, make a

"Suggested Merchant list" including name, address and phone number of those merchants. If known,

also provide the name of the contact person. We recommend that you return this with your enrollment

form. ESI will make contact with these merchants with program information. Interested merchants are

encouraged to check our website for further information.

If an eScrip participating grocery store is using a loyalty card to track purchases, how do I get

a card?

Visit your local participating grocery store to apply and receive your grocery loyalty card. You must

then register the card with the eScrip program. When making purchases, use your loyalty card and

pay with any method you prefer (cash, check, debit/ATM, or credit card). It is the grocery loyalty card

that automatically tracks the contribution to your organization.

What about airline miles and other rewards associated with these cards?

The eScrip contributions you earn by using an eScrip registered debit or credit card have nothing to

do with the benefits that may be offered by the debit/credit card provider, and you will still continue to

earn these benefits from these providers. This is the beauty of registering all the cards you frequently

use - you earn for your favorite group, while still earning rewards from your debit/credit card provider -

a real win-win!

eScrip does have partnerships with other rewards companies that administer the contributions you

earn for such things as eScrip Dining (administered by Rewards Network) and online shopping

(administered by Incentive Networks). These companies do offer eScrip contributions when using

their services. They may also offer other types of rewards, such as airline miles, cash back, or other

rewards. In these cases you will have to choose the type of reward you prefer, but you can not get

both, or all, of their rewards offerings (called "Double Dipping"). However, you will still continue to

receive any rewards you earn from your Debit/Credit card provider, even if you use these services.

Will participation in the eScrip program prevent me from getting my usual club card discount

at the cash register- even if I pay with a check or cash?

No, all club card discounts remain in place and run in conjunction with our program.

Are there any exclusion to purchases made on the eScrip program?

Participating merchants may have certain exclusions to purchases. Please see the eScrip merchant

list for exclusions.

6/27/13 4:01 PM

Why do merchants want to participate in eScrip?

The eScrip program builds mutually beneficial relationships between schools and the business

community, strengthening community ties as a whole.

Why are some of the contribution percentages lower than the paper percentages?

The convenient use of eScrip allows each and every purchase to be tracked for a contribution to your

organization. This higher volume translates into increased earnings for organizations. And, eScrip has

contracted with merchants whom have never before participated in paper fundraising programs,

further expanding the choices available to supporters.

In what regions is eScrip available?

eScrip is a national program with representation from merchants in communities across the nation.

Organizations that contribute to the direct education of youth are welcome to participate with the

merchant list available in their region, or the national merchant list.

Reporting

How will I know how much I have contributed using the eScrip program?

Monthly statements are available online by accessing My eScrip. Your organization will also receive a

consolidated report showing the amount contributed in your name. Reports online are available for

both group coordinators and supporters of the program.

How will extended member's eScrip purchases be tracked toward my family's commitment?

(Tuition schools)

ESI provides each organization a report listing eScrip program participants and their phone number.

In the event that the school or organization does not recognize a name, they may contact that person

and determine whom to credit.

Why isn't my password accepted when I try to "sign on" to My eScrip?

Passwords are case sensitive. Make sure your CAPS LOCK key is properly set. Additionally,

passwords must not contain any spaces or special characters. Double check to make sure that you

entered your password and username correctly. If you are experiencing difficulties send email to

supporters@escrip.com.

Security

Is it safe to be giving our credit card numbers out in this way?

ESI has contracted with a national processor who provides state-of-the-art technology for

administration of the eScrip program. ESI's process involves flagging these card numbers for program

use. The participating retailers provide the processor with the purchase information so a donation

amount can be applied. ESI's systems have met the strict requirements of the participating merchants

in the area of security, safety and confidentiality. For additional information read our privacy policy.

Will this program affect our non-profit status?

It is illegal for us to provide tax information. You must ask the advice of your own tax professional.

However, this program is designed to be run by volunteers in your organization and the funds are

designated as contributions from the merchants, which should not change your organization's tax

status. Again, we recommend that you seek the advice of a tax professional.

How and how often will our organization get paid?

Your organization can expect to be paid approximately 60 days from month's end. Payment is

contingent upon ESI receiving funds from merchant partners. This time allotment covers merchant

billing, reconciliation by merchants, debit transfers of money from merchants and credit to your

organization's account. All deposits to your organization are made by Electronic Funds Transfer. This

process safeguards against lost checks and delayed deposits by busy volunteers. It is the safest way

to ensure that money is directly and safely deposited into your organization's account. The first

payment will be sent 60 days after close of the first month of the program. Subsequent payments will

then be in regular 30-day intervals. Your bank statement will identify the funds transfer into your

organization's account.
