The "Original" Dynamic Feed<br />
The PF mechanical Feed was the first press feed<br />
manufactured and marketed by Dynamic more than<br />
30 years ago. Today, it is still considered one of the<br />
best mechanical feeds on the market because of its<br />
simple design and trouble-free service.<br />
Extremely Durable and Versatile<br />
The main frame of the Mechanical Feed is made from<br />
high-strength cast aluminum and can be mounted to<br />
virtually any kind of press. It is completely powered<br />
by the press, which means it has few wear parts and<br />
requires no additional energy source.<br />
The eccentric disc is powered by the<br />
crankshaft extension on the press.<br />
The adjustable wedge block<br />
on the eccentric disc<br />
controls the feed<br />
stroke, and because it<br />
is the last link in the<br />
drive train, it assures feed<br />
accuracy.<br />
The cross member driven by the<br />
eccentric disc works like a piston in an<br />
engine. The feed head on the<br />
moving cross member has<br />
non-reversing clutch<br />
bearings in the rolls so it<br />
can roll on the back<br />
stroke and lock on the<br />
forward stroke. The stationary<br />
feed head on the front cross<br />
member lets the material pass<br />
through but prevents it from backing up.<br />
The PF Mechanical Feed has a<br />
removable handle that slides over the<br />
clutch system to disengage the<br />
feed from the press. This<br />
allows the feed to be<br />
hand-cycled without<br />
running the press, or<br />
the press to be<br />
cycled without moving the<br />
feed. The single point of entry<br />
on the clutch assures the press<br />
and feed are in time when restarted.<br />
Features:<br />
• Durable main frame made of high-strength, cast aluminum.<br />
• Guide rods made of hardened and ground shaft steel<br />
equipped with linear ceramic bushings.<br />
• Feed rolls with non-reversing bearings grip material only<br />
on the forward stroke.<br />
• Bottom feedhead roll is mounted on an eccentric to<br />
accommodate materials of various thicknesses. Range<br />
must vary considerably (approx. 3/16") before adjustment is<br />
needed.<br />
• Removable handle slides over clutch mechanism for<br />
manual hand cycling.<br />
• Mounting plate ±1" of adjustment (±3" with optional<br />
mounting plate).<br />

(depending on material and progression rates).<br />
• Can be hand cycled to check feed progressions without<br />

• Allows rapid stock changeover with simple adjustments for<br />
width, thickness and length.<br />
• Two models accommodate material widths up to 15" and<br />
lengths up to 10".<br />

Setting Up The Mechanical Feed<br />
The Mechanical Feed is quick and easy to set up and<br />
allows rapid changeovers from one size stock to<br />
another.<br />
♦ Adjust the feed width by loosening 4 bolts and<br />
sliding feed heads and materal guide rolls to the<br />
desired position.<br />
♦ Adjust the material thickness by loosening the<br />
eccentric on the bottom feed roll and then raising<br />
or lowering as desired.<br />
♦ Adjust the feed length by unlocking the wedge on<br />
the eccentric disc and turning the adjusting rod to<br />
move the wedge off center. When desired length is<br />
reached, relock the wedge with the locking rod.<br />
For applications that change from one standard feed<br />
length to another, use a ground pin, dowel or gauge block<br />
to set the length.<br />

To Set Up:<br />
Use a ground pin between moving block "A" and<br />
stationary block "B." The relationship of distance is not<br />
direct; i.e., 2.040 may equal a 2.00" feed length.<br />
However, once one is established, all other feed lengths<br />
can be determined.<br />
Production Performance<br />
The corresponding graphic and chart to the right<br />
show the relationship between strokes-per-minute<br />
and feed length in inches. Your actual production<br />
will depend on material thickness, width and other<br />
operating conditions.<br />

The Dynamic ServoFeed<br />
is a powerful feeding<br />
system that combines the<br />
strongest attributes of<br />
three proven technologies:<br />
• The Dynamic Feed Gripping System.<br />
• A rotating linear ball screw system.<br />
• An AC brushless servo drive motor.<br />
This powerful combination enables the<br />
Dynamic ServoFeed to deliver up to three<br />
times the pulling force of any comparable size<br />
servo feed and provide more torque and gripping<br />
power than conventional roll type servo feeds.<br />
Low inertia and optimum gear ratio is inherent<br />
through the mechanical advantage of the linear<br />
ball screw which allows the ServoFeed to operate<br />
at high speeds without the use of gears, pulleys,<br />
belts or chains.<br />
High Accuracy Rating<br />
The Dynamic ServoFeed maintains an<br />
unprecedented level of efficiency and accuracy<br />
even after repeated use. Virtually no lost motion<br />
exists between the drive and ball screw which<br />
allows the ServoFeed to maintain an accuracy<br />
rating of between .002" and .004" (depending on<br />
the application).<br />

The Dynamic ServoFeed utilizes microprocessor<br />
technology and software-user interface techniques<br />
to enhance programming capabilities for standard<br />

Auto Gag Sequencing/Skip Feeding<br />
Special feeding sequences can be programmed to<br />
achieve varying feed lengths, skips and repetitions.<br />
This is ideal for the type of tooling that lends itself<br />
to families of parts (parts with same size holes,<br />
notches, knockouts or forms, but with different<br />
overall lengths or hole locations).<br />

The DX ServoFeed requires no computer training to<br />
operate. The user-friendly keypad walks the user<br />
through a simple start up process<br />

MODEL DXY ZIG-ZAG SERVOFEED<br />
Dynamic was the first to offer a simple zig-zag<br />
solution and has been building zig-zags for more<br />
than 20 years. The DXY Zig-Zag ServoFeed offers<br />
dramatic advantages in stagger feeding as compared<br />
to other zig-zag feeds which tend to be mechanically<br />
complex and difficult to operate and maintain. The<br />
model DXY is completely automated using proprietary<br />
software interface techniques to calculate and<br />
set up all machine parameters quickly and accurately.<br />
The X-Y movement allows parts to be nested in a<br />
staggered pattern for optimum material yield and,<br />
unlike any other stagger feed on the market, the DXY<br />
allows you to:<br />
♦ Automatically calculate your best pattern for<br />
optimum material yield in seconds.<br />
♦ Make on-the-fly web adjustments.<br />
♦ Make on-the-fly material centering adjustments.<br />
High Torque and Pulling Power<br />
Designed for optimum performance, the<br />
model DXY utilizes the basic mechanical<br />
advantages of the standard DX ServoFeed<br />
set up in a dual-axis format. A linear ball<br />
screw and an AC brushless servo motor in<br />
each axis provide high torque and<br />
maximum pulling force. The powerful<br />
Dynamic gripping system uses one-way<br />
rollers to grip material on the forward<br />
stroke and hold it on the return stroke.<br />
Automatic, Simultaneous X-Y Set Up<br />
System set up and calibration is so simple<br />
it requires no computer training. Simply<br />
enter:<br />
❶ Number of columns per strip (2-out,<br />
3-out, etc.), or material width<br />
❷ Part diameter<br />
❸ Web width<br />
❹ Speed Parameters<br />
Once job parameters are entered, the<br />
controller automatically calculates the<br />
optimum movement in each axis and sets<br />
up the feed to deliver the material in a<br />
simutaneous X-Y movement. This allows<br />
the feed to deliver material at high speeds.<br />

Automatic Calculations<br />
The DXY can be used to punch<br />
either 1-out or multiple-out<br />
patterns. The standard "Pattern<br />
Generator" software is available with<br />
the DXY to automatically calculate<br />
the best yield of your material and<br />
set up all parameters for the<br />
machine. Parameters can then be<br />
downloaded to the DXY Parts<br />
Storage Facillity and recalled by<br />
simply entering the assigned part<br />
number.<br />

The emergence of the DX Bar Stock<br />
ServoFeed has impacted<br />
manufacturers working with heavy<br />
bar stock by automating the bar<br />
feeding process for a variety of<br />
applications.<br />
Easy to Operate<br />
The DX Bar Feed does not require any<br />
computer training to set up. The<br />
operator can retrieve a stored part<br />
parameter from memory or enter<br />
three parameters:<br />
❶ Speed Parameters<br />
❷ Feed length<br />
❸ Die Distance<br />
Once parameters are entered, the operator inserts the first<br />
bar into the die and starts the press<br />
in automatic mode. When the end<br />
of the bar is sensed by the end-ofstock<br />
detector, the press is<br />
automatically top-stopped and the<br />
feed heads are positioned to<br />
receive the<br />
next bar. The operator places the next<br />
bar in position and the press is<br />
restarted. Tail scrap length is<br />
automatically calculated and pushed<br />
through the die when the new bar is<br />
placed into initial position.<br />

heavy duty gripping system, ball<br />

Pilot Release System releases<br />
material where camber is a problem<br />
or where the pilot can't pull forward<br />
due to material softness. Used for<br />
very thin (.020" and less) and narrow<br />
material.<br />
Dual Grippers are standard on<br />
feeds 15" or wider. They are offered<br />
as an option on smaller feeds<br />
running 5" wide material at .060" or<br />
greater.<br />
Tandem Block provides extra<br />
pulling power for thick narrow<br />
material that is not wide enough to<br />
grip on both edges and requires an<br />
extra feed head. This reduces the<br />
total amount of feed length by 1 3 /8".<br />
Bridge Gripper is used for<br />
applications requiring greater<br />
clamping force or material with<br />
non-markable surface. Provides a<br />
full-width grip on material up to 12"<br />

Easy to Operate<br />
Designed primarily for high speed<br />
applications, the computer-controlled<br />
DX/EV offers continuous speed and<br />
accuracy up to 800 strokes-per-minute.<br />
Material is fed through rolls made of<br />
hardened steel with permanently<br />
sealed and lubricated bearings. This<br />
reduces maintenance problems caused<br />
by dust and dirt contamination.<br />
The resolver-based, AC brushless servo<br />
motor is mounted to the underside of<br />
the feed making it compact and easy<br />
to mount to the front, back or either<br />
side of a press.<br />
Standard Pilot Release<br />
The Model DX/EV comes standard with<br />
a pneumatic, high speed pilot release<br />
system precisely controlled by a<br />
patented central cylinder. Pressure is<br />
controlled by a single regulator for<br />
both clamping and pilot release.<br />

The EVG is a unique roll feed designed to<br />
process a wide variety of lightweight<br />
and delicate materials including thin<br />
metal, thin plastic, paper, cardboard,<br />
textiles, rubber, packaging material, foam<br />
rubber, felt, etc.<br />
Material is fed between two pressure<br />
rollers treated with an acid and oilresistant<br />
coating. Pressure is applied to<br />
the upper and lower sides of the<br />
material while the unique EVG pivoting<br />
roll pressure system works with left and<br />
right air pressure regulators to allow<br />
material to track through the feed rolls<br />
squarely. Long edge guide rails prevent<br />
damage even to the most delicate<br />
materials.<br />

The compact design of the feed allows<br />
it to be placed in close proximity to the<br />

Registration For Pre-Printed<br />
Materials<br />
The EVG can also be equipped with a<br />
color-mark sensor for precise registration<br />
of pre-printed material. The sensor<br />
determines the exact position of each<br />
image on the material and then makes<br />
any adjustments necessary to accurately<br />
feed the material into the die.<br />

A unique concept in high speed, zigzag<br />
roll feeding, the DXY/EV allows<br />
parts to be fed in a staggered pattern<br />
for optimum material yield. Material is<br />
fed in a simultaneous X-Y movement<br />
allowing incoming material to travel at<br />
high speeds through the rolls on the<br />
X-axis. At the same time, the Y-axis<br />
movement is controlled by a rotating<br />
linear ball screw which maximizes<br />
speed and provides high torque and<br />
low inertia.<br />

Compact<br />
Like the standard single-axis DX/EV<br />
Roll Feed, the Zig-Zag feed is compact<br />
and can be easily mounted to any side<br />
of a press. The roll feed is driven by an<br />
AC servo motor while the Y axis<br />
movement of the feed is powered by a<br />
combination AC motor and linear ball<br />
screw.<br />
Versatile<br />
The DXY/EV can be programmed to<br />
feed material in a single or dual axis<br />
format. It can also be used to push or<br />
pull material through the die.<br />
Easy System Set-Up<br />
The DXY/EV has two easy set up<br />
options:<br />
❶ Enter: 1 diameter; 2 web; 3 number<br />
of columns and speed rate<br />
parameters;<br />

❷ Enter: 1 diameter; 2 web; 3 material<br />

simultaneous X-Y moves for these<br />
given parameters. Many times washer<br />

The Dynamic <strong>Products</strong> PD/PLC Pallet<br />
Decoiler is one of the toughest<br />
decoilers on the market and is<br />
especially advantageous for thin<br />
material (.004"/0,102mm) due to its<br />
high precision loop control.<br />
Precision Loop Control<br />
Powered by an AC motor, the PLC has<br />
a variable speed drive system which<br />
uses a precision loop arm and a<br />
hydrostatic gearbox to regulate the<br />
speed of the rotary plate. As the loop<br />
arm raises, the speed of the rotary<br />
plate increases giving the PLC<br />
immediate speed at the small ID and<br />
high torque to accelerate full loads.<br />
Equally as important, the hydrostatic<br />
system acts as a brake to stop the<br />
rotary plate quickly without coasting.<br />
PLC/H Heavy Duty Model<br />
The PLC is also offered with a heavyduty<br />
hydrostatic drive system and<br />
heavy-duty loop arm for large coils of<br />
material. It is ideal for running canend<br />
pull-tab stock on conversion<br />

The compact units are mounted on a<br />
common base so alignment and moving<br />
the unit is never a problem. Also, all the<br />
hoses and wires are channeled through<br />
the chassis of the machine so there is no<br />
chance for damage.<br />
An encoder measures the actual<br />
movement of the material and not the<br />
rotation of a roll. If the material slips at<br />
the roll, the system will stop the press.<br />
This closed loop system can save die<br />
damage since most material slips occur<br />
when first feeding.<br />
Special items that customers like are the<br />
ability to change feed line height<br />
hydraulically by push button and<br />
hydraulically opening the straightening<br />
head for threading and cleaning.<br />
All of the straightening and feed rolls<br />
release for piloting, not just the feed rolls<br />
which is typical on other pull through<br />
systems. There are 11 total rolls, nine<br />
straightening rolls and 2 pinch rolls.<br />
These are in a bank adjustment head, like<br />
precision levelers, so no individual rolls<br />
need to be adjusted. This allows the rolls<br />
to be smaller and spaced closer together<br />
to achieve better flatness.<br />
With hydraulic reel rotation and<br />
expansion combined with the hold down<br />
arms and two-axis peelers as standard,<br />
the coil can be threaded safely via push<br />
button. All the customer has to do is cut<br />
the bands on the coil.<br />
