Yachad, meaning “all together” in Hebrew, is
Camp Rishon’s inclusion program for children
with special needs.
What is inclusion?
• Incorporating everyone with their strengths
and challenges, and allowing everyone to
contribute.
• Creating a sense of community among all
participants.
Why do children need inclusion?
• Fosters the development of a feeling of
belonging.
• Embraces the acceptance of individuality
among peers.
• Develops a sense of independence.
What do we do?
• Hands on learning.
• Provide additional support staff.
• Gross motor and fine motor development.
• Improve social interactions and social skills
among peers.
• Make accommodations as necessary by
altering teaching methods without lowering
standards.
• Modify activities to better meet individual
needs.
There will be no additional cost to enroll your
child in Camp Rishon’s Yachad Program
provided our grant funding is renewed again
this year.
Is Yachad right for my child?
Because individual needs vary, the first step
is to see if our Yachad Program is a good fit
for your child. Please contact Mick Hagan,
inclusion specialist, at 315-445-2360, ext. 129.
