The inclusion of our much-copied single sheet

technical tables, for single and multi-splits, should

assist with most of the technical issues that arise

during design, selection and installation. Typical Error

Codes have been included to assist on-site engineers

working with what is frequently described as the

‘best diagnostic hard-wired controller available in the

UK today’.

MHI’s introduction of NEW KX6 outdoor units has again

advanced VRF technology to new and exciting levels.

3D’ scroll compressors, ‘vector’ inverter control and

DC fan motors have enhanced the already successful

KX4 systems to achieve industry-leading CoPs,

compact sizes, design flexibility and pipe lengths.

must be in accordance with the manufacturer instructions.

The equipment must be subject to a maintenance agreement.

Labour allowances are not applicable.

Accessories and Controls

Air Handling Unit Valve Kit

Valve kits are available allowing air

handling unit cooling/heating coils to be

connected to both FD-Series split system

heat pumps, and to KX6 VRF systems.

In both cases the installer is responsible

for the design of the air handing unit

and heat exchangers, and for the design

details of air volume, condensate

removal, etc.

The Valve Kit allows the air handing

unit to operate in a similar manner

as a connected indoor unit, having a

Mitsubishi individual remote controller

(type RC-E1). Valve kits provide cooling

and heating from 7kW to 25kW.

Door Curtains are also available for

connection to FD-Series, and to KX6

VRF systems. Two model sizes (length:

1500mm & 2000mm) providing up to

10.3kW and 13.6kW.

Air to Water Heat Pump

High Performance

Air Sourced Heat Pumps dominate the

heat pump market, mainly for commercial

buildings, but increasingly more now for

residential. Over 200,000 air sourced heat

pumps are installed each year in the UK.

Air to Water (A2W) Heat Pumps provide

much flexibility for small houses and

apartments, allowing combinations of under

floor heating, heating of domestic water,

and in the case of this new Mitsubishi

system, heating and cooling (summer

operation) through fan coil type units.

Operation:

The outdoor air is the heat source. The

small Mitsubishi FDCW outdoor unit

can be discretely located outside, and is

connecterd by two small copper pipes to

the HM270V indoor unit.

The complete system is capable of

collecting and transferring 9kW of heat

energy sourced from the outdoor air

to provide heat inside the building,

whilst consuming only 2.5kW (approx)

of electricity. This ratio of heat energy

delivered to energy consumed, is known

as the Coefficient of Performance (C.o.P.)

Features:

• Optimum operational costs (electricity consumption) thanks to

Mitsubishi proven Inverter technology

• Compact Indoor Unit with integrated water tank, heat exchanger,

and controls. Footprint is only 600mm x 650mm.

• Auxillary electric immersion heater included, to boost domestic

water temperature up to 65 o C.

• Can be integrated with alternative heat sources, e.g. solar panels,

gas boiler.

• Cooling operation feature, using chilled water in the fan coil units.

• C.o.P. Heating up to 3.7kW - an industry best!
