stored in PERSACTHST (Personnel Action Header)<br />

A Personnel Action object ID number keeps the header<br />

record associated with the detail data stored in the<br />

HRHISTORY and PRRATEHIST files<br />

A Position Level stored on the HRHISTORY and<br />

PRRATEHIST record keeps the association between the<br />

data in PAEMPPOS and these two files<br />

How is <strong>History</strong> Corrected?<br />

When correcting your employee’s history, it is important to<br />

understand what a “Retroactive Change” means to the<br />

system:<br />

A “Retroactive Change” means the data entered has an effective date<br />

prior to the latest date that exists in history for the given field being<br />

updated.<br />

There are <strong>History</strong> <strong>Correction</strong> <strong>Method</strong> options to select to tell the<br />

system what to do the later dated records.<br />

an historical action that has already been processed for<br />

an employee. You may want to do this type of special<br />

processing if you forgot to update a data item contained in<br />

the historical action. Rather than have two personnel<br />

actions for the employee, they can all be merged into one<br />

Troubleshooting<br />

Issue:<br />

Scenario is current Employee Master is correct but history<br />

records from previous changes need to be fixed.<br />

The original action called “Rehire” was entered with an incorrect<br />

effective date 3/02/2012 (should have been 3/01/12) and an<br />

incorrect Status<br />

HR entered a new action called “<strong>Correction</strong>” effective 4/01/12 (to<br />

correct the “Status” and “Effective Date”) but HR only wants to<br />

have one completed and accurate Rehire history record<br />

Solution:<br />

Correct the Status field values on the original action<br />

Correct the Effective Date on the original action<br />

Correct the Action Code and Effective Date on the corrective<br />

action<br />

Combine the original and the corrective action<br />
