Prelude

*Call to Worship

“When You Seek Me, You Shall Find Me”

C. Courtney

Dr. Boggess, Organ

Leader: Shout for joy to God, all the earth;

sing the glory of his name;

give to him glorious praise!

People: All the earth worships you

and sings praises to you;

they sing praises to your name.

(Psalm 66:1-2, 4)

* Hymn “All People That on Earth Do Dwell” No. 24

* Prayer of Confession

Eternal God,

in whom we live and move and have our being,

whose face is hidden from us by our sins,

and whose mercy we forget in the blindness of

our hearts:

Cleanse us from all our offenses,

and deliver us from proud thoughts

and vain desires,

that with reverent and humble hearts

we may draw near to you,

confessing our faults,

confiding in your grace,

and finding in you our refuge and strength;

through Jesus Christ your Son. Amen.

* Assurance of Pardon

* Gloria Patri

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,

and to the Holy Ghost;

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever

shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.

God Gives to Us Through His Word

Scripture Lesson: Psalm 65:1-8

Anthem

Leader: Praise is due to you, O God, in Zion,

and to you shall vows be performed.

People: O you who hears prayer,

to you shall all flesh come.

L: When iniquities prevail against me,

you atone for our transgressions.

P: Blessed is the one you choose and bring near,

to dwell in your courts!

We shall be satisfied with the goodness of

your house,

the holiness of your temple!

L: By awesome deeds you answer us with righteousness,

O God of our salvation,

the hope of all the ends of the earth

and of the farthest seas:

P: The one who by his strength established

the mountains,

being girded with might;

L: Who stills the roaring of the seas,

the roaring of their waves,

the tumult of the peoples,

P: So that those who dwell at the ends of the

earth are in awe at your signs.

You make the going out of the morning

and the evening to shout for joy.

* Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of

heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ His only Son

our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born

of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was

crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell;

the third day He rose again from the dead; He

ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of

God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come

to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy

Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of

saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the

body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy

Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth

as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from

evil: For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the

glory, for ever. Amen.
