<strong>The</strong> <strong>New</strong> <strong>Generation</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Kangoo</strong> <strong>Jumps</strong><br />

PRODUCT INFORMATION<br />

KJ4-XR (X-Rebound) is the first model <strong>of</strong> what we can call the “new <strong>Kangoo</strong> <strong>Jumps</strong> generation”, considering it’s major<br />

advantages over the former model, the KJ4-TT. <strong>The</strong> XR’s provide a “s<strong>of</strong>ter ride” (you can now feel the cushioning even<br />

when walking), more rebound, increased comfort, and it’s Tension Bands do not need to be adapted to the weight <strong>of</strong><br />

the user, as they accommodate a much wider range <strong>of</strong> weights (35 kg - 110 Kg). <strong>The</strong>y’re also suitable for teens and preteens.<br />

KJ4-XR’s reduce the impact even more than the TT’s, and they accommodate a broader weight range, which makes<br />

them ideal for use in therapeutic clinics, for use after injury or surgery.<br />

Even though the KJ4 X-Rebound looks similar to the former model, the technical configuration <strong>of</strong> the spring system<br />

(shells & T-springs) is quite different. Try them. You’ll notice the difference immediately!<br />

KJ4-XR’s are now available in two colours: Blue and Black. Both with yellow T-Springs.<br />

Sizing: remember, all <strong>Kangoo</strong> <strong>Jumps</strong> models are unisex, marked with men’s sizes.<br />

<strong>New</strong> Caps are now available.<br />

A <strong>study</strong> conducted by Dr. J.E. Taunton at the University <strong>of</strong> British Columbia - Canada, with 2 groups <strong>of</strong> novice runners,<br />

one wearing <strong>Kangoo</strong> <strong>Jumps</strong>, the other conventional running shoes, during a walk/run program over 12 weeks to prepare<br />

for a 10 Km charity ‘fun run’, reports these conclusions:<br />

• 42% <strong>of</strong> runners wearing conventional shoes reported running injuries<br />

• 0 % <strong>of</strong> <strong>Kangoo</strong>-Runners reported any injury…<br />

That’s not all…During the same period <strong>of</strong> time, <strong>Kangoo</strong>-Runners increased their fitness level (VO2 Max) by an average<br />

THE ADVICE CORNER<br />

Fitting your KJs:<br />

Don’t tighten your buckles too much! We noticed that most people have a tendency to tighten their buckles far too<br />

much, out <strong>of</strong> fear that they might twist their ankles. This fear is unfounded, as the KJ’s soles are as wide, or wider than<br />

your own shoes. So, there is no lateral instability. So get comfortable! Allow a relatively lose fit to avoid ankle soreness!<br />

Debi Sugarman, a customer from Texas who had bought her first KJs in 1998 and had used them almost daily, called<br />

us to order a new pair. She said she loved KJs even though she was suffering <strong>of</strong> ankle soreness when using them. We<br />

told her to try a very lose fit. <strong>The</strong> very next day she wrote us saying that, for the first time in over 4 years, she hadn’t<br />

felt soreness anymore and also felt secure without tightening her buckles so much!<br />

Do you feel a bit tight in your KJs at the forefoot level? Try to remove the extra inner sole, inside the liners.<br />

T-Spring replacement:<br />

Replace your T-Springs regularly, to get the best rebound effect. That’s the only component that needs regular<br />

replacement.<br />

How <strong>of</strong>ten should they get replaced? All depends on your standards <strong>of</strong> expectations. <strong>The</strong>re’s a good comparison with<br />

tennis players: top tennis players change their balls after every match, others use them till they hardly rebound. In any<br />

event we recommend to replace the T-Springs at least after about 60 hours <strong>of</strong> use.<br />

More specifically, some runners replace their jogging shoes every 250 miles, while others at the 500 mile mark. <strong>The</strong><br />

T-Springs are replaced, just like your running shoes are, but at a fraction <strong>of</strong> the cost.<br />

Save your joints, and save your Running shoes too!

<strong>The</strong>y use KJs in conjunction with other activities and games, like basketball, jump roping, jogging,<br />

volleyball etc.<br />

normally do without KJs.<br />

France<br />

- <strong>Kangoo</strong> <strong>Jumps</strong> were again the main attraction at the Mondial Body Fitness in Paris, in March 03, as well as at the Foire<br />

de Paris, in May.<br />

- <strong>The</strong> 3 finalists <strong>of</strong> "Star Accademy" loved being trained with <strong>Kangoo</strong> <strong>Jumps</strong>. <strong>The</strong> Winner, Nolwenn, has now become a<br />

world star.<br />

South Africa<br />

- T3 magazine is doing an editorial for July, but in the meantime, they have awarded KJ's a "Gold Medal Award" for being<br />

one <strong>of</strong> the most innovative and exciting products that they have published<br />

- <strong>The</strong> KJ Team spent 10 days with the film crew and promoters <strong>of</strong> the "Idols" programme which was launched on TV end<br />

<strong>of</strong> June. It was really exciting to see everyone so enthusiastic about the KJ's. Hundreds <strong>of</strong> "idol hopefuls" were dying to<br />

give them a try.<br />

<strong>New</strong> York - U.S.A.<br />

<strong>An</strong>thony Rodriguez, who was the featured flamenco soloist on the Madonna Drowned World Tour, is an upcoming<br />

singer/songwriter with a hit song he is currently promoting. He has choreographed for Tito Puente, Marc <strong>An</strong>thony, Cyndi<br />

Lauper, danced and worked with Jennifer Lopez and with Prince.<br />

<strong>An</strong>thony and his own groundbreakinbg dance company "La Santa Luz" fell in Love with <strong>Kangoo</strong> <strong>Jumps</strong> and are now<br />

using them for their performances.<br />

HAPPY KANGOO USERS…<br />

"When My wife Alicia Lund told me about the <strong>Kangoo</strong> <strong>Jumps</strong> I thought that may be she would get a pair but not me.<br />

When I tried the boots on and walked with them for a few minutes I was convinced. I bought 2 pairs, one for my wife<br />

and one for me. <strong>The</strong> main reason I bought them was because in October 2000 I had Spinal surgery, I had Lumbar<br />

Decompression and Discectomy for a Herniated Nucleus Pulposus with Spinal Stenosis (In normal terms a Herniated<br />

disc L-4 & L-5).<br />

Even now after all this time, when I walk because <strong>of</strong> the impact on the pavement my lower back hurts after about 20<br />

minutes <strong>of</strong> walking. Since I bought the kangoo <strong>Jumps</strong>, my wife and I go out walking and even jogging with the boots on<br />

and it has not bothered my back at all. In fact my wife timed our jogging run yesterday 5/7/03, and we both ran for 25<br />

minutes.<br />
