3.4 <strong>Installation</strong> of the ACU (bulkhead)<br />

The following sections describe the installation of the bulkhead<br />

ACU.<br />

<strong>Installation</strong> of the SAILOR 900 VSAT 19” Rack ACU is described in<br />

Installing the 19” rack version of the ACU on page 3-30.<br />

3.4.1 Installing the ACU (bulkhead)<br />

The cable relief for the ACU is already mounted when receiving the<br />

ACU. The cable relief is a simple system to secure cables with cable<br />

strips. It offers a number of holders to which you can secure the<br />

cables from the ACU.<br />

1. Place the ACU on a desktop.<br />

If required, fasten the ACU to the desktop with 6 screws: Insert<br />

the mounting bolts (M5) through the mounting holes and into<br />

the mounting surface.<br />

2. Make sure the grounding requirements are met. See Grounding<br />

the ACU (bulkhead) on page 3-27 and the appendix Grounding<br />

and RF protection on page F-1 for details about grounding.<br />

3. Connect all cables. See Interfaces of the SAILOR 900 VSAT ACU on<br />

page 4-1 for a description of the ACU connectors.<br />

4. Secure the cables using cable strips.<br />

3.4.1.1 Connectors of the ACU<br />

The ACU has the following connectors:<br />
