Salle Rollo Fencing Club<br />
Is Glasgow’s premier fencing club.<br />
Whether you are fencing at an<br />
international level or fancy trying fencing<br />
as a bit of fun you will find Salle Rollo to<br />
be a welcoming environment.<br />
Our main goal is to encourage our<br />
members to be as good as they can be<br />
and to participate in competitive bouts.<br />
To this end we have provided excellent<br />
facilities within The High School of<br />
Glasgow situated in Glasgow’s West End.<br />
We can accommodate participants from<br />
8 years old onwards. Our membership<br />
ranges from children of 8 to adults who<br />
would rather not be reminded how old<br />
they are.<br />
Thanks to funding provided by the<br />
National Lottery, Glasgow Life, the Sports<br />
Council for Glasgow, Foundation For<br />
Scottish Fencing and our sponsor, Remax<br />
Scotland, we have been able to develop<br />
Salle Rollo into a thriving and positive<br />
venue for all of our athletes.<br />

BEGINNERS CLASSES AT <strong>SALLE</strong> <strong>ROLLO</strong><br />
The coaches at Salle Rollo regularly run<br />
beginners classes for all ages.<br />
From children moving along the club<br />
pathway to adults who are looking to<br />
try a new sport or return to fencing<br />
after a break, Salle Rollo will create a<br />
class environment to suit.<br />
Those new to fencing will traditionally be<br />
taught the basics of fencing within a foil<br />
class and after an agreed period of time<br />
might be encouraged to try Epee or<br />
Sabre. Anyone attending Salle Rollo will<br />
be given every opportunity to develop<br />
their understanding and technical ability<br />
in whatever weapon they choose.<br />

Salle Rollo has an<br />
annual intake of children to the clubs<br />
mini fence group. Children are able to<br />
learn the basic skills of fencing in a fun<br />
environment and without the worry and<br />
pressures of the competitive scene they<br />
will encounter as they progress into the<br />
fencing club.<br />

CLASSES at Salle Rollo are structured to provide<br />
participants with value for money. The club continues<br />
to provide excellent facilities at a minimal cost to<br />
ensure that anyone can participate in our sport.

Salle Rollo has been a wonderful opportunity for me to develop my sabre<br />
fencing skills - and everything that goes along with that! Such as -<br />
perseverance; huge physical exercise ; lots of concentration -but most<br />
importantly - the friendship of others- great coaches and a wonderful group<br />
of athletes. On a more personal note I feel it's important that we support<br />
Salle Rollo in bringing fencing to school children throughout Glasgowfencing<br />
is a truly an amazing discipline which can do so much in imparting<br />
key skills and attitudes which can only help such children to succeed in<br />
later life<br />
