Your
Community
Have You Seen Our New Signs?
Golden Plains Shire is home to many excellent events and
in order to support safe signage of events in the region,
Council is installing roadside signage frames to be made
available for community use.
The signage frames will be located at strategic locations
throughout Golden Plains Shire including Bannockburn,
Smythesdale, Rokewood, Teesdale, Inverleigh and
Meredith. Each will have space for three 1200 x 1200
event advertisements.
Spaces are available for community groups to promote
their events. For more information about sign locations
and how to book space for your event, contact Council’s
Community Events Officer, Elaine Kellett on 5220 221 or
elaine.kellett@gplains.vic.gov.au.
April Activities at Bannockburn Library
concert for children, Shake It, Move It a musical story
time, an Xbox and Wii session as well as a movie arvo and
poetry evening. Anyone can come along.
Residents are also encouraged to sign up for their own
library card. Your library card can be used at libraries
through out the Geelong and district region as well as at
mobile library services. Golden Plains has had the highest
update of membership (and borrowings) in the Geelong
Regional Library Corporation area since it first opened to
the community in 2011!
To learn about membership, details about programs and
activities or mobile library timetable, go to grlc.vic.gov.au
or pop into the Library, High Street, Bannockburn.
A game first developed in Brazil, Futsal is an indoor soccer
game which has five players per team. Futsal is an excellent
Most importantly it’s a good time for all!
The Term 2 Futsal Competition starts in Bannockburn on
Tuesday 29 April and will take place each Tuesday. There
are competitions for Under 7s from 4.15pm, Under 9s from
5pm and Under 11s from 5.45pm.
