March Market Report

Our golden March market was certainly golden a

busy plains affair with patrons enjoying plainsthe

farmers fine ’ market weather. We were farmers very ’ market pleased

to welcome back Taliska


as our


entertainers. They were very well

received by the passing audience with

many stopping for 5-10 minutes to

absorb the sound.

We were also fortunate to have

Hammer&Tongs and Homestyle Curries

providing us with some magnificent

condiments. It was also great to have

hay and lucerne available, these new

products were well supported.

This weekend we will again have

Grubby Gumboots at our market with

their friendly, cuddly animals.

We welcome Georgie Fuller, our new

Market Manager, to Golden Plains

Shire Council.

Golden Plains Farmers’ Market – Smythesdale

You are invited to join us for the

second trial of the Golden Plains

Farmers’ Market - Smythesdale which

is going to take place on Saturday 20

April 2013.

Situated in the picturesque township

of Smythesdale, in the Historic

Precinct on the Glenelg Highway, our

market will showcase the very best

of the region, with boutique farming

provedors offering something for

everyone. You will find and meet new

stallholders from the Smythesdale,

Ballarat and Central Highlands region

as well as some of our Bannockburn

market favourites.

The last market was hugely successful,

with approximately 800 marketgoers

and 28 stallholders enjoying the day.


At Golden Plains Farmers’ Market we

are delighted to welcome back one

of our regular musicians, Mattski.

Mattski is a well-known artist

on the local blues circuit. His

music embraces blues styles from

bluegrass to rockabilly.

You can listen to Mattski and even

purchase a CD at the market.
