from 17 October – 8 November 2013, in specific from 4 days

prior to 1st match of the respective team to 1 day after the last

match and/or elimination

For TLO Orientation, Team Workshop and Draw Event from

23.-28. August 2013 (Departure 29. August 2013)

Primary Job Function:

• The Team Liaison officer (TLO) at the FIFA U-17 World Cup UAE 2013 is the

point of reference of the participating Teams head of delegation. The TLO is

essentially the interface between the Teams and the Tournament. The TLO

will be permanently assigned to one of the participating Teams and follow

them throughout their time in the competition. He will look after all their

needs ensuring that all facilities and services that the Tournament

organization must deliver are ready and available and that any issue or

demand is properly addressed within the Tournament's organization and

solved.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Prepare for the tournament by studying all documentation and familiarize

with all facilities, routes and procedures.

• Welcome the designated Team at the airport and assist with all visa, luggage

and transport procedures.

• Guard and support the assigned Team throughout their participation in the

Tournament.

• Act as main contact person for the team

• Receive any issue or additional request from the Team and communicate it

to the Team Services Coordinator in the venue.


• Ensure constant flow of information to the Team Service Centre through the

Team Services Coordinator in the respective Venue on any relevant issue or

change of schedule

• Become familiar with the culture, customs and traditions of the Team

assigned to (ideally be from the same culture)

• Attend the TLO Orientation (Abu Dhabi, 23.-24. August 2013 tbc)

• Meet the Team for their participation in the Draw Event (Abu Dhabi, 25.-26.

August 2013) and the Team Workshop (Abu Dhabi, 27.-28. August 2013 tbc)

Required skills:

• Fluent in English and primary language of the national team with whom he

assigned to (qualified countries: Japan, Iraq, Iran, Uzbekistan, Panama,

Canada, Honduras, Mexico, New Zealand, Tunisia, Morocco, Cote D'Ivoire,

Nigeria, Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, Uruguay, Slovakia, Sweden, Russia,

Italy, Croatia, Austria). Additional knowledge of Arabic Language is a plus.

• Must be familiar with the culture, customs, traditions & peculiarities of the

assigned national team (preferable to be of the same culture).

• At least 3 years of Event management experience (ideally Sports Events)

• Service orientation with preferred previous experiences in areas like client

service or helpdesks, but also understand his/her role in relation to the

other departments as well as the event itself.

• A proven problem-solver with a high degree of patience. Able to quickly and

correctly assess the relative urgency of problems that arise, and identify and

implement effective solutions.

• Strong communication skills.

• Teamwork ability and solution oriented attitude.

• Detail-oriented and able to work under pressure and to do long hours during

the course of the competition.

• Assertive, decisive, reliable, loyal, discreet, trustworthy and committed to

successful event delivery.

• Strong MS-Office Skills (especially word, excel, power-point)

• Knowledge in Football is preferred

• Knowledge of the Host Country and venues is preferred

Compensation:

• A daily rate will be provided for each working day, accommodation and

meals during the tournament in the team hotel will be provided
