And a government review might finally provide an opportunity to protect something else: agent commissions. But early indications suggest that the Ontario government’s review of the Travel Industry Council of Ontario will focus solely on consumer protection. Asked whether the government had any comment on possible commission protection under the Compensation Fund, the office of Minister Harinder Takhar, Small Business and Consumer Services, said there had been “nothing on that point” and that the review would be a general assessment geared toward seeing if consumers can be better protected.
