Word Master TM Anuradha from Burj TMC was our Word Master. TM Anuradha is the better half of one of our past Presidents, TM Mohan Kamath, and it is a delight to listen to this new TM. The word introduced was OTIOSE which means futile, useless, ineffective. The Word Master gave few examples of the usage and confidently conducted a brief round robin. Well done TM Anuradha! Prepared Speech Session Project 9: Inspire your audience TM Chandrashekar ‘Someone is waiting for you’ TM Chandrashekar cares so much of the FOY members that he wants all of us to stay safe and for this reason persuaded us that safety is key and we are responsible to keep ourselves and others safe. TM Chandrashekar shared a touching story of his colleage who got injured at work. Accidents can surely happen and will always happen but we do have a role in preventing and protecting ourselves. Our President is getting closer to being a Competent Communicator and we wish to hear his P10 very soon. Project 1: Entertaining Manual TM Mohan Kamath ‘Question Mark!’ TM Mohan’s project was meant to entertain us and the speaker surely did! The speaker had us smiling, laughing and wondering what was coming next… The speech had all the elements of an entertaining speech. The speaker had characters in his speech that we were all familiar with hence connected us more to his speech. Anecdotes, expressions, and body language made this speech memorable. Looking forward to hearing more speeches from this manual. 2
Table Topics Session Hosted by TM Hanif Khatri When Our Bollywood Star, TM Hanif, takes a role, one can be guaranteed that humor will be there. The Table Topics Master briefed the audience on the purpose of holding a TT session. TM Abhilash TM Subash TM Dr. Dayananda TM Kartik Keyan Guest Jay ‘A policeman asked to stop your car and is walking towards you, tell us what happens next’ ‘If you could cure one disease in this world, which disease would you choose and why?’ ‘Attack issue, not people!’ ‘Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, teach him how to fish and he will eat all his life’ ‘Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life’ Evaluation Session headed by TM Reena Speech Evaluation Evaluation Speech #1 by TM Saju Evaluation Speech #2 by TM Aravind TM Saju, our evaluation Champion, had all the ingredients of a winning evaluation and followed the guidance of our Area Governor’s session on Evaluation to the T. The evaluator was impressed by the speech content and confirmed that the speaker met the speech objectives. A suggestion to the speaker was to have a call to action and add more humor to the speech. One champion as evaluator was not enough so we had the Champ of the Champs (wining two categories at the Area) evaluating TM Mohan’s speech. TM Aravind was happily surprised by the project delivered by TM Mohan which he thoroughly enjoyed. 3
