MESSAGE FROM OUR LEADERSHIP
Major Lester Ferguson
Bahamas Divisional Commander
Mrs. Judy V. C. Munroe
Advisory Board Chairperson
DEAR FRIENDS OF THE SALVATION ARMY
One of the things that keeps humanity alive, especially in an environment of change and challenge, is hope. Martin
Luther King, Jr. said, “If you lose hope, somehow you lose the vitality that keeps life moving...” The Salvation Army in The
Bahamas works hard at being an agent of hope. For us, hope is not clinging to a wish that something good might happen,
it is working towards the expectation and outcome that good will happen.
The Salvation Army calls hope, love in action. It is what happens when one lonely woman is given warm shelter for the
night; when a struggling family is offered support; when a troubled youth receives guidance at a critical moment; when an
unemployed father of a sick child is given help and encouragement. Each day, The Salvation Army in The Bahamas offers
hope to many: the hope that someone cares; that all is not lost; that there will be a brighter, better tomorrow!
The Salvation Army considers itself a humble steward of your generosity. We want to express our deepest gratitude to all
of our donors, supporters and volunteers. Your continuing support allows us to meet our community’s evolving needs.
God Bless You!
INTERNATIONAL MISSION STATEMENT
