Born in Elizovo (Kamchatka Peninsula, Russia) on November 14, 1961.
Entered Medical School in Sechenov 1 st Moscow Medical Institute in 1978 and
graduated in 1984.
From 1984 to 1988 he worked as a resident and fellow in the Diagnostic Radiology
Department of the All-Russian Cardiology Research Center.
In 1988 he was promoted to researcher and later to senior and leading researcher of
the Radiology Department.
He obtained his first doctoral degree at the Cardiology Center in 1989 (MD) and the
second (MD, PhD) in 1995.
In 1999 he was awarded the title Professor of Radiology.
His main job (since 2008) is the position of Chief of the Imaging Center in the
Federal Center of Medicine and Rehabilitation.
From 1997 until 2009 he served as a part-time professor of Radiology in Sechenov
Moscow Medical Academy.
Since 2005 he has been Professor and Head of the Course of Radiology in the
Faculty of Fundamental Medicine of Lomonosov Moscow State University.
He is Elected President of the Russian National Congress of Radiology 2011
He currently serves as:
- Member of the ESR Congress Committee (ESR member since 1997)
- Member of the Executive Committee and Vice-President of the Russian Society
of Specialists of Radiology
- Member of the European Society of Cardiac Radiology (ESCR) - current
position: Vice-President
- Member of the ISR

- Member of the RSNA
He is a member of the Editorial Boards of:
- Journal of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance
- Diagnostic Imaging (Europe)
- Imaging Decisions
- International Journal of Cardiovascular Imaging
He also serves as a reviewer for “Radiology”
Publications:
- Author and co-author of more than 110 publications (cited in PubMed)
covering subjects on Cardiovascular Radiology, Magnetic Resonance, General
Radiology, Contrast Media, Internet and Computer Applications.
- Author and co-author of 8 books published in 1997-2009 (Russian language) on
Radiology and Internet applications in Radiology, co-author of a chapter in the
book “Cardiac Radiology” (Springer, 2004, 2 nd ed. 2008), editor of Russian
versions of two international textbooks on MRI and CT, author of two teaching
CD-ROMs for residents.
Teaching activities:
