Foreword<br />
Na tien succesvolle veilingjaren wordt dit jaar<br />
de 11 e editie van de <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong><br />
gehouden. Het afgelopen veilingjaar was een<br />
recordjaar en is een bevestiging dat we op<br />
de goede weg zijn om de kwaliteit door te<br />
zetten die we in de loop der jaren hebben<br />
opgebouwd.<br />
Het is voor ons goed om te zien dat de<br />
paarden die vorig jaar verkocht zijn zeer<br />
goede successen boeken in de sport. Dit<br />
jaar deden veel, eerder verkochte, paarden<br />
van zich spreken tijdens de wedstrijden in<br />
Florida (USA). Ook op de andere internationale<br />
Youngster-tour wedstrijden zag men<br />
met regelmaat paarden van de <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong><br />
<strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong> een podiumplaats veroveren.<br />
Al deze zaken inspireren ons om de kwaliteit<br />
van hetzelfde hoge niveau te houden als u van<br />
ons gewend bent en wij denken dat we daar<br />
met de huidige collectie in geslaagd zijn. Wij<br />
nodigen u allen uit om u te laten overtuigen<br />
van de kwaliteiten van de paarden. Mocht u in<br />
de periode voor de veiling contact willen opnemen<br />

After ten successful auction years, the 11 th<br />
edition of the <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong> will<br />
be held this year. The previous auction year<br />
was a record year and is confirmation that<br />
we are on track to continue with the quality<br />
that we have built up over the years.<br />
For us, it is good to see that the horses that<br />
were sold last year are very successful in the<br />
sport. This year, many previously sold horses<br />
made a name for themselves during the<br />
competitions in Florida (USA). In other international<br />
Youngster-Tour competitions we<br />
also regularly saw horses from the <strong>Dutch</strong><br />
<strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong> winning a podium place.<br />
All these things inspire us to maintain the<br />
same high quality that you are accustomed<br />
to from us and we think, that with the current<br />
selection, we have succeeded in this.<br />

Emile & Paul Hendrix<br />
De gebroeders Hendrix runnen samen één<br />
van de bekendste en meest succesvolle<br />
spring- en handelsstallen van de wereld.<br />

en hun betrokkenheid hebben zij in de paardenhandel<br />

Neil Jones<br />
De in België gesitueerde Engelsman Neil<br />
Jones heeft zichzelf ontwikkeld tot een<br />
vooraanstaand paardenhandelaar. Hij heeft<br />
jarenlang op topniveau paardensport bedreven<br />
voor de bekende internationale<br />
spring coryfeeën Michael Whitaker en Ludo<br />
Philippaerts. Onder de naam Neil Jones<br />
Equestrian heeft hij zijn eigen naam in de<br />
markt gezet. Hij heeft wereldwijd veel tevreden<br />
klanten die graag bij hem terugkomen.<br />
Door zijn uitgebreide kennis en netwerk<br />
weet Neil naar welk soort paard de potentiële<br />

involvement, they have built up a worldwide<br />

Paul strives for perfection, he has an eye for<br />
tracing the best young horses. Together with<br />
the riding experience of Emile, they know<br />

importance that these equestrian entrepreneurs<br />

a collection of quality 4-, 5-, and 6-year-old<br />
show jumpers to their current clientele, in a<br />

Neil Jones<br />
This Englishman is situated in Belgium and<br />
has developed into a leading horse dealer.<br />
He has many years of experience in the<br />
equestrian sport at top level. Neil gained experience<br />
from the well-known international<br />
show jumping stars Michael Whitaker and<br />
Ludo Philippaerts. Active in the market as<br />
Neil Jones Equestrian he has built a reputation<br />
for himself and has many satisfied customers<br />
from all over the world who gladly<br />
return to him.<br />
Through his extensive knowledge Neil<br />
knows what sort of horse the potential customer<br />
is looking for. A number of the selected<br />
horses are also very suitable for various<br />
other branches of the jumping sport<br />
such as hunter divisions and equitation.<br />

Yves Houtackers<br />
Na ruim 12,5 jaar werkzaam te zijn geweest bij<br />
Dressuur- en Springstal De IJzeren Man te Weert,<br />
is Yves in 2007 zijn eigen hippische onderneming<br />
gestart: Springstal Yves Houtackers B.V. Hij heeft<br />
zijn ervaring en kennis mede opgedaan bij de<br />
Zweedse top-amazone Malin Baryard en de<br />
Duitser Marcus Ehning. Inmiddels is Yves zelf<br />
succesvol in de springsport en is hij sinds 2014<br />
directeur sportief bij het CHIO Rotterdam.<br />
Voor de ontwikkeling van de <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong><br />
<strong>Sales</strong> is het van belang dat een ruiter als Yves<br />
mede verantwoordelijk is voor de selectie van<br />
de jonge paarden. Yves streeft ernaar de potentiële<br />
koper een fijn gereden paard aan te kunnen<br />
bieden. In de collectie van dit jaar zijn uitsluitend<br />
eerlijk opgeleide paarden opgenomen die een<br />
glansrijke sportcarriëre te wachten staat.<br />

Yves Houtackers<br />
After working 12.5 years at Dressuur- en<br />
Springstal De IJzeren Man, Yves founded his own<br />
equestrian company in 2007: Springstal Yves<br />
Houtackers B.V. He gained his experience and<br />
knowledge at the stables of the Swedish top rider<br />
Malin Baryard and the German Marcus Ehning.<br />
Meanwhile Yves himself has been successful in<br />
show jumping and he is sports director for the<br />
CHIO Rotterdam.<br />
For the development of the <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong><br />
<strong>Sales</strong> it is important that a rider of this level is<br />
jointly responsible for the selection of the topquality<br />
young horses. Yves strives to offer the<br />
potential buyer a well trained horse. This year’s<br />
collection contains only honestly-trained 4-, 5-<br />
and 6-year-old horses who are at the beginning<br />
of a brilliant sports career.<br />

Zapatero maakt zijn opmars in de fokkerij. De<br />
relatief jonge hengst maakt furore op Grand<br />
Prix niveau onder Jessica Kürten. Ferimain TH<br />
heeft ruim voldoende potentie om zijn vader<br />
op te volgen. De top gemodelleerde ruin<br />
springt buitengewoon voor een vierjarige. Hij<br />
beschikt over reflexen en vermogen zoals we<br />
het maar zelden zien. Dat talent spreekt voor<br />
zich wanneer we de moederlijn van Ferimain<br />
TH bekijken. Via Indoctro x Pacific x Jimtown<br />
komt hij terecht bij een volle zus van de legendarische<br />
springhengst N.Aldato, die met Emile<br />
Hendrix in 1991 Europees kampioen werd in<br />
La Baule.<br />
Ferimain TH<br />
Zapatero is making his mark in breeding. The<br />
relatively young stallion is creating furore at<br />
Grand Prix level, ridden by Jessica Kürten.<br />
Ferimain TH has more than enough potential<br />
to follow his father. The nicely-built gelding<br />
jumps exceptionally for a four-year-old. He has<br />
reflexes and ability seldom seen. That talent<br />
is self-explanatory when we look at Ferimain<br />
TH’s dam-line. Via Indoctro x Pacific x Jimtown<br />
he comes out at a full sister of the legendary<br />
jumping stallion N.Aldato who, ridden by<br />
Emile Hendrix, was European Champion in La<br />
Baule in 1991.<br />

We zijn blij dat we een fokproduct van één<br />
van de paradepaarden van VDL Stud aan u<br />
mogen presenteren: Fortunato T. De mooi getekende<br />
zoon van Zirocco Blue valt op door<br />
zijn goede manier van springen en moderniteit.<br />
Vader Zirocco Blue behaalt momenteel vele<br />
overwinningen onder Jur Vrieling. Zo wonnen<br />
zij dit jaar nog de Grote Prijs van Geesteren.<br />
Ook aan moederszijde imponeert het pedigree<br />
van Fortunato T. Hij is namelijk een telg uit de<br />
bekende Oberlina-stam. De 1.60m paarden<br />
Zorro (Vincent Lambrecht), Utah (Michael van<br />
den Bosch) en What Ever (Jur Vrieling) komen<br />
ook uit deze stam. Fortunato T is een belofte<br />
voor de toekomst!<br />

We are pleased to be able to present to you a<br />
progeny of one of the top horses of VDL Stud:<br />
Fortunato T. The beautifully-marked Zirocco<br />
Blue son attracts attention due to his good<br />
jumping technique and his modern build. Sire<br />
Zirocco Blue is currently very successful under<br />
Jür Vrieling. They won the Grand Prix in<br />
Geesteren this year. Fortunato T’s pedigree<br />
on his dam’s side is also impressive. He is an<br />
offspring out of the Oberlina-bloodline. The<br />
1.60m horses Zorro (Vincent Lambrecht),<br />
Utah (Michael van den Bosch) and What Ever<br />

met een echt topsportkarakter. Het<br />

needs no further introduction. He is known<br />

de legendarische hengst Mr. Blue. De prachtige<br />
schimmelhengst Mr. Blue heeft uit een beperkt<br />
aantal dekkingen toch een forse hoeveelheid<br />
extra springende paarden geleverd waaronder<br />
Parmala Douche, Blue Angel, Plot Blue en<br />
VDL Groep Santana. De moeder van For the<br />
Moment is even zo legendarisch. Het is de Don<br />
Juan-dochter Domina III. Deze merrie sprong<br />
op Grand Prix niveau met de Zwitser Willi<br />
Mellinger. Haar latere ruiter was Maikel van der<br />
Vleuten en hij behaalde zijn eerste successen<br />
met haar. Kortom; een serieus talent, niet alleen<br />

pedigree. Faldiano werd door het BWP<br />
tijdens de tweede fase met de kampioenstitel<br />
bekroond. Net als zijn vader is James een<br />
mooie verschijning. Hij is hoogbenig en heeft<br />
een goede bovenlijn. Zijn kwaliteit is het vermogen<br />
waarmee hij springt en het gevoel dat hij<br />
de ruiter geeft. James is een getalenteerde ruin<br />
met veel mogelijkheden in de sport.<br />

The five-year-old chestnut gelding James is big<br />
for his age but he uses his body fantastically.<br />
James is an offspring of the Heartbreaker-son,<br />
Faldiano. The combination with Jus de Pomme<br />
make this an interesting pedigree. Faldiano<br />
was crowned champion by the BWP during<br />
the second phase. Like his father, James has a<br />
beautiful appearance. He has a good top-line.<br />
His quality is the ability with which he jumps<br />
and the feeling that he gives his rider. James<br />
is a talented gelding with many possibilities in<br />

Mackings Grand Prix paard FAN Schalkaar. In<br />
het voortraject naar de veiling bleek Marchello<br />
Z al een bijzonder opvallend paard waardoor<br />
de verwachtingen hooggespannen zijn.<br />

Unprecedented ability and tremendous reflexes,<br />
this summarises Marchello Z’s pluses<br />
very well. He is a large-framed gelding by the<br />
international jumping stallion Marome NW<br />
(Gert Jan Bruggink). They won many Grand<br />
Prix. It is admirable how many good jumping<br />
horses Marome NW has produced out of<br />
relatively few coverings. Marcello Z’s dam-line<br />

paard waarvan de selectiecommissie weet dat<br />

jumping horse. His canter is fantastic. So<br />
are the reflexes and ability that he shows at<br />
the jump. He definitely wants to make it faultlessly<br />
to the other side. Lordanos is a topproducer<br />
of jumping horses. He is responsible<br />
for the paternity of many Grand Prix horses<br />
including: Loakoon (Hendrik Sosath) and Lord<br />
(Juan Carlos Alvarez del Castillo). Lorstakov is<br />

Interview - Willi Melliger<br />
“Cooperation across borders makes life more interesting, right?”<br />
The 61-year-old Willi Melliger lives with his wife<br />
and three children in the Swiss Neuendorf. The<br />
legendary show jumper Calvaro is inextricably<br />
linked to this former Olympic rider. In 1996<br />
the combination won individual silver during<br />
the Olympic Games in Atlanta. But it did not<br />
stop there; during the Games in Sydney in 2000<br />
Switzerland won team gold. As if that is not<br />
enough, Willi and Calvaro also won four medals<br />
at the World Championships. The success even<br />
resulted in a book starring Calvaro and entitled:<br />
White Myth.<br />
Willi Melliger: “I have known the Hendrix family<br />
for a very long time. We have frequently worked<br />
together over the past years. Not just because<br />
The Netherlands has acquired a good position<br />
in international equestrianism, but also due<br />
to the great amount of knowledge the <strong>Dutch</strong><br />
horsemen and women have. The Hendrix family<br />
is a perfect example of this. For many years Willi<br />
was one of Switzerland’s most successful riders.<br />
He therefore knows as no other what a good<br />
show jumper should have. “ What I know for<br />
sure is that you need a good horse to be able to<br />
become a better rider. It is definitely not easy to<br />
find that one horse, but there are ways to reach<br />
your goal more quickly. That is, for example, to<br />
buy horses from people who know what a good<br />
horse is. That is why I buy at the <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong><br />
<strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong>. Each year I go to the auction and<br />
I am always amazed at how they can find such<br />
quality horses.”<br />
Willi himself no longer competes but still<br />
looks for good horses for his clients. Does he<br />
bring them to the <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong> or<br />
does he come by himself? “ Sometimes I bring<br />
clients with me if I find a horse in the collection<br />
that I think would suit them. I also go on my<br />

own and buy horses for myself. I have to fill<br />
my own yard too, haha! I rarely buy via the<br />
telephone. I personally find it better to look<br />
at the horses with my own eyes. It gives more<br />
insight and is of course much more fun too.”<br />
In 2008 Melliger bought the grey Curacao<br />
(Carpola x Lordanos). He says about this horse:<br />
“This horse shows me every day that it will<br />
become a perfect Grand Prix horse. Last year<br />
I bought Escada (Chacco Blue x Ircolando).<br />
This mare has a great pedigree and learns very<br />
quickly, that is what I like.”<br />
As the prominent horse dealer travels all over<br />
the world visiting auctions he can make a good<br />
comparison. What are the differences between<br />
the <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong> and other auctions<br />
that he has visited. “Each auction has its own<br />
style. The <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong> is definitely<br />
one of the best auctions I know. It says enough<br />
that I see people from all over the world back<br />
in Weert every year. Cross-border cooperation<br />
makes life ever more interesting, right?”<br />

Interview - Jennifer & Michael Crooks<br />
“S.F. Uryadi is the best horse I have ever ridden!”<br />
Michael and Jennifer Crooks run the splendid<br />
Stella Farm in the American Sandpoint, Idaho.<br />
They met each other through a blind date<br />
that was arranged for them by mutual friends<br />
who thought that it could be a good match;<br />
how right they were! Their loving family now<br />
consists of no fewer than twelve children,<br />
seven of which are adopted. As part of their<br />
business, young talent is schooled, riders are<br />
trained and horses are prepared for the big<br />
competitions.<br />
Jennifer & Michael Crooks<br />
Since 2006, Michael and Jennifer Crooks are<br />
regular visitors to the <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong><br />
<strong>Sales</strong>. Jennifer tells how they came into contact<br />
with the auction: “A friend of ours told<br />
us about a five-year-old mare that was going<br />
to be sold via a <strong>Dutch</strong> auction. Three days<br />
before the auction this same friend called us<br />
and told us that we had to had to get on the<br />
next plane to come and buy the horse of my<br />
life at the <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong>. Michael<br />
flew to The Netherlands and every day I am<br />
glad that he did so. That was the year that<br />
we bought S.F Uryadi!” Since then Jennifer<br />
and S.F. Uryadi have won a great number of<br />
Grand Prix.<br />
They also bought S.F. Ariantha, a grey mare by<br />
Corland, via the auction. Jennifer tells about the<br />
two horses: “Both are exceptionally talented<br />
Grand Prix horses. They are both very different,<br />
that makes it so great to work with them.<br />
S.F. Uryadi is not just the best horse that I have<br />
ever bought via the <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong>,<br />
she is the best horse that I have ever ridden! A<br />
horse with more bascule does not exist. She is<br />
kind and courageous at the same time and has<br />
taken me to the level at which I am now.”<br />
What, according to Jennifer, are the advantages<br />
of an auction such as the <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong><br />
<strong>Sales</strong>? “As we have such a large family we don’t<br />
have time to travel across Europe and to look<br />
at horses. Via Neil’s, Yves’s, Paul’s and Emile’s<br />
auction we are able to see many of the best<br />
young horses in Europe in a short space of time.<br />
Another big advantage is that Paul and Emile<br />
are masters at scouting for young talent. But<br />
even more importantly: they give honest advice<br />
about which horse would suit you best. It gives<br />
a lot of confidence that they almost never get it<br />
wrong.” laughs Jennifer.<br />
With twelve children, as well as a big heart you<br />
especially need team work. Michael and Jennifer<br />
know how to combine working with the horses<br />
and family life perfectly. “Michael and I work<br />
very well together. Of course, we could not be<br />
without the help of our families. Owners Daryl<br />
and Samia Staehle and Olivia Cox-Hill always<br />
support us too.”<br />
This year too this top team is coming to Weert<br />
to look at the collection themselves. “We are<br />
looking for horses for ourselves, but also for<br />
clients. It is great to know beforehand that the<br />
long journey is certainly worth the effort.”<br />

“Without the <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong>, I don’t think that I would ever have become a professional rider.”<br />
Just across the <strong>Dutch</strong> border lies the Belgian<br />
Hamont-Achel. This is the location of the<br />
wonderful Stal Mulkhoeve complex that, run<br />
by <strong>Dutch</strong> rider Joy Lammers, trains young<br />
jumping horses. The 26-year-old Joy came<br />
into contact with the <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong><br />
<strong>Sales</strong> via Yves Houtackers, her trainer for the<br />
past 19 years. The Lammers family bought<br />
three horses via the auction.<br />
Joy Lammers<br />
Joy has had her best successes to date with<br />
the Namelus R-daughter, T. Sellie. These include<br />
two national Grand Prix (Kessel and<br />
Roggel) and two international Grand Prix<br />
(Odense and Genk). We asked her how important<br />
the <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong> has<br />
been in her development as a rider. “It may<br />
sound a bit strange, but without the auction,<br />
I don’t think that I would ever have<br />
become a professional rider. Because we<br />
bought T.Sellie as a four-year-old, I suddenly<br />
had a horse on which I could seriously compete<br />
for prizes. She developed so well and<br />
I enjoyed it so much that after my studies I<br />
chose to concentrate entirely on equestrianism.<br />
She gave me a future in the sport.”<br />
In recent years Joy has become an opponent<br />
to be seriously contended with. She<br />
is very successful with <strong>Dutch</strong>boy (Veron x<br />
Lux) and Bravour (Padinus x Cantos), who<br />
were purchased via the auction. <strong>Dutch</strong>boy,<br />
born in 2008, has been jumping outstandingly<br />
well these past six months. “He has<br />
suddenly become more mature and seems<br />
to be really becoming an exceptional jumping<br />
horse. More recently, he has had faultless<br />
rounds in the competitions in Eindhoven,<br />
Koningsbosch and Opglabbeek, all of which<br />
are multiple-day competitions.”<br />
The dark bay gelding Bravour was recently<br />
sold and is now ridden by the Belgian rider<br />
Nadège Janssen. “We bought him at the auction<br />
as a five-year-old and he is now eight.<br />
That is the ideal situation for our yard: buy a<br />
talented, young horse and train him further<br />
for selling on. In this case the auction gave us<br />
a stable basis on which to build further. You<br />
have to start with quality.”<br />
What, according to Joy, are the advantages of<br />
the <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong>? “The big advantage<br />
is that it offers something for everyone,<br />
especially now that six-year-olds have also<br />
been added to the collection. It is possible<br />
to buy a good four-year-old, but you can also<br />
buy a talented horse that has already proven<br />
himself. I also think that the committee has<br />
an exceptional insight into young horses. Each<br />
year the collection is as solid as a rock.”<br />

De Indoctro-zoon Entebbe valt op door zijn<br />
lichtvoetigheid en het gemak waarmee hij de<br />
hindernissen trotseert. Indoctro drukte de<br />
laatste twintig jaar een duidelijke stempel op<br />
de Nederlandse springpaardenfokkerij. Enkele<br />
Olympische nakomelingen zijn Orestus (Juan<br />
Andres Rodriguez) en Don Porfirio (Antonio<br />
Chedrau). Ook Entebbe is een voorbeeld van<br />
een paard dat goed in het springpaardenmodel<br />
staat. Hij beschikt over veel vermogen en ondanks<br />
dat hij nog jeugdig en relatief groen is,<br />
maakt hij snelle vorderingen.<br />

The Indoctro-son Entebbe attracts attention<br />
due to his light-footedness and the ease with<br />
which he tackles the jumps. Indoctro has left a<br />
clear mark on <strong>Dutch</strong> jumping horse breeding<br />
over the past twenty years. Several Olympic<br />
offspring are Orestus (Juan Andres Rodriguez)<br />
and Don Porfirio (Antonio Chedrau). Entebbe<br />
is an example of a horse with a good conformation.<br />
He has much ability and, despite the<br />
fact that he is still young and relatively green,<br />
he is making rapid progress.<br />

geweldig resultaat: Elliot HX beschikt over<br />
extreem vermogen. Dat kan ook niet anders,<br />
Ustinov zelf blinkt ook uit door zijn extra galoppade.<br />
Elliot HX viel al diverse malen op tijdens<br />
de Hendrix Competitie door zijn manier<br />
van springen. Door al deze eigenschappen samen<br />
behoort Elliot HX tot de betere paarden<br />
in de collectie van dit jaar.<br />
Elliot HX<br />
This five-year-old son of Ustinov is out of the<br />
Kojak mare Sarida who jumped in America,<br />
ridden by Hillary Ridland. After her sports<br />
career Sarida came back to The Netherlands<br />
to be used as a brood mare. And with superb<br />
results: Eliot HX has exceptional ability. It cannot<br />
be otherwise, Ustinov himself stands out<br />
due to his extra galoppade. Eliot HX has already<br />
attracted attention several times during<br />
the Hendrix Competition due to his way of<br />
jumping. All these characteristics combined<br />
make Eliot HX one of the better horses in this<br />
year’s collection.<br />

Curt Z’s grootmoeder Tasja is beter bekend<br />
als Olympic Sunrise. Deze merrie nam deel aan<br />
de Olympische Spelen in Seoul in 1988 onder<br />
voormalig ruiter en huidig bondscoach Rob<br />
Ehrens. Curt Z komt dus uit een bewezen moederlijn.<br />
Zelf springt de Cassiano-zoon met veel<br />
vermogen en beschikt hij over uitstekende rijkwaliteiten.<br />
Hij doorliep een succesvolle cyclus<br />
voor jonge paarden in België. Galoubet A komt<br />
ook voor in deze afstamming: in zijn tijd was<br />
hij één van de beste springpaarden ter wereld<br />
onder Gilles Bertrand de Balanda. Dit duo won<br />
onder andere teamgoud in Dublin in 1982. De<br />
vader van Curt Z is de in 2001 geboren hengst<br />

Curt W Z’s granddam Tasja is better known<br />
as Olympic Sunrise. This mare took part in<br />
the Olympic Games in Seoul in 1988, ridden<br />

Ehrens. Curt W Z is thus out of a proven damline.<br />
The Cassiano-son himself jumps with<br />
much ability and has exceptional riding qualities.<br />
He has successfully competed in a series<br />
for young horses in Belgium. Galoubet A is<br />
also present in his pedigree: in his time he was<br />
one of the best show jumpers in the world<br />
under rider Gilles Bertrand de Balanda. This<br />

exceptional thing about Dilona is that she is a<br />
daughter of Audi’s Jikke. Ridden by Eric van der<br />

and World Cup Finals. All in all, Dilona has a<br />

she will live up to the expectations of both of<br />

Carvalho werd vorig jaar via de <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong><br />
<strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong> verkocht. Vader Ustinov was onder<br />
Caroline Müller reeds internationaal succesvol.<br />
De moederlijn van Donadoni HX gaat terug<br />
op N-Aldato. N-Aldato is het paard waarmee<br />
Emile Hendrix in La Baule goud behaalde tijdens<br />
de Europese kampioenschappen in 1991.<br />
Via grootmoeder Grey Lady gaat de Donadoni<br />
HX terug op een Hannoveraanse moederlijn<br />

Wanneer u naar aanleiding van de catalogus geïnteresseerd<br />
bent in een van de paarden dan<br />
biedt de Stichting <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong> u<br />
de mogelijkheid om in aanloop naar de veiling<br />
de paarden te bezichtigen en eventueel te berijden.<br />
Voor een eventuele bezichtiging kunt u<br />
een afspraak maken met de organisatie van de<br />
Stichting <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong>.<br />

Verzekering<br />

Zorg Paardenverzekering aanwezig om u de<br />
mogelijkheid te bieden om na de veiling uw<br />
paard te verzekeren tot 13 dagen na de veiling.<br />
U heeft daarbij de keuze uit verschillende verzekeringen.<br />
Veterinaire rapporten<br />
De paarden die via de veiling verkocht zullen<br />
worden zijn ten laatste 3 maanden voorafgaande<br />
aan de veiling röntgenologisch in orde<br />
bevonden. Een gebruikelijke klinische (sportpaarden-)keuring<br />
heeft ten laatste twee weken<br />
vóór de veiling plaatsgevonden.<br />

Insurance<br />
During the <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong> Hippo<br />
Zorg <strong>Horse</strong> Insurance will be present to offer<br />
you the possibility of insuring the horse(s)<br />
you have purchased. It is possible to insure the<br />
horse(s) for up to 13 days after the auction,<br />
with an option to extend. There is a choice of<br />
insurances offered.<br />
Veterinary reports<br />
The horses sold through the auction have been<br />
found to be in good condition following a radiographic<br />
test conducted at least three months<br />
prior to the auction. A standard clinical examination<br />
(for sport horses) has been completed<br />
at the latest two weeks prior to the auction.<br />

Terms and conditions<br />
1. Algemeen<br />
1.1 De <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong> [Hendrix<br />
Events B.V., zaakdoende onder de naam<br />
<strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong>] (hierna zowel<br />
afzonderlijk als gezamenlijk te noemen:<br />
DSHS), organiseert in haar functie van<br />
bemiddelaar tussen verkoper en koper<br />
op dinsdag 23 september 2014 de <strong>Dutch</strong><br />
<strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong> (hierna te noemen: de<br />
veiling) op de accommodatie van Dressuur-<br />
& Springstal De IJzeren Man B.V. te Weert.<br />
De veiling zal plaatsvinden onder toezicht<br />
van een notaris.<br />
1.2 Deze veilingvoorwaarden zijn van toepassing<br />
op alle tijdens de veiling gesloten<br />
koopovereenkomsten met betrekking tot<br />
via DSHS aangeboden paarden, alsmede alle<br />
overeenkomsten die daaruit voortvloeien.<br />
1.3 Op deze overeenkomsten is Nederlands<br />
recht van toepassing.<br />
1.4 Deze voorwaarden worden vóór aanvang<br />
van de veiling bekend gemaakt en zijn in de<br />
veilingcatalogus opgenomen.<br />
2. Verkoop/Veiling<br />
Tijdens de veiling zullen de paarden onder het<br />
zadel voorgesteld worden. De paarden zullen<br />
tijdens de veiling per opbod in Euro’s worden<br />
verkocht, tenzij anders aangegeven, met een minimale<br />
inzet van € 20.000,- Er wordt geboden<br />
in bedragen van € 1.000,- tot € 50.000,-, vervolgens<br />
in bedragen van € 2.000,- tot € 100.000,-<br />
en daarboven in bedragen van € 5.000,-.<br />
Een potentiële bieder/koper zal aan zijn/haar<br />
bod worden gehouden, totdat een eventueel<br />
hoger bod volgt. Krijgt de koper de afslag door<br />
de veilingmeester toegewezen dan is die betreffende<br />
koper verplicht het rekening bedrag te<br />
1. General<br />
1.1 The <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong> [also known<br />
as Hendrix Events BV, trading under the<br />
name <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong>] (hereinafter<br />
individually and collectively referred to<br />
as: DSHS), organises in its function as an intermediary<br />
between sellers and buyers the<br />
<strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong> (hereinafter: the<br />
auction) on the Tuesday 23rd of September<br />
2014 on the property of Dressuur- &<br />
Springstal De IJzeren Man BV in Weert in<br />
the Netherlands. The auction will be held<br />
under the supervision of a notary.<br />
1.2 These auction terms and conditions are applicable<br />
to all sales agreements concluded<br />
during the auction related to the horses offered<br />
via DSHS, as well as any agreements<br />
resulting from that.<br />
1.3 This agreement is governed by <strong>Dutch</strong> law.<br />
1.4 These terms and conditions are to be announced<br />
prior to the start of the auction<br />
and are also included in the auction catalogue.<br />
2. <strong>Sales</strong>/Auction<br />
During the auction horses will be presented<br />
under saddle. The horses will be sold during<br />
the auction by bidding in the Euro currency, unless<br />
otherwise stated, with a minimum starting<br />
bid of € 20,000.-. Bids are to be made in increments<br />
of € 1,000.- at a time up to € 50,000.-,<br />
after which bid increments are to be made in<br />
€ 2,000.- at a time up to € 100,000.-, and above<br />
that bid increments are to be made in € 5,000.-<br />
at a time.<br />
Potential bidders/buyers will be held to their<br />
bids until a higher bid has been received. If the<br />
auctioneer awards a bid to a buyer, the relevant<br />

voldoen, zoals in artikel 3 berekend. In geval van<br />
twijfel betreffende de geldigheid van een afslag,<br />
kan het laatste opbod weer aangenomen worden<br />
en zal het opbieden hervat worden. De notaris<br />
beslist bindend over eventuele geschillen<br />
die bij of tijdens het bieden ontstaan.<br />
3. Afrekening veilingbedrag<br />
en -kosten<br />
3.1 Direct na afloop van de veiling dient de koper<br />
zijn/haar betalingsverplichtingen te vervullen<br />
op het veilingbureau. Indien de koper<br />
hieraan niet voldoet, is DSHS gerechtigd de<br />
bieding niet te erkennen en ongeldig te verklaren<br />
en het gekochte paard opnieuw te<br />
veilen, dan wel het gekochte paard toe te<br />
wijzen aan de een na hoogste bieder. De<br />
koper is in dat geval van rechtswege in verzuim<br />
en is gehouden de daardoor veroorzaakte<br />
schade aan DSHS te vergoeden, onverminderd<br />
de overige rechten van DSHS.<br />
3.2 Het rekening bedrag<br />
wordt als volgt berekend:<br />

1½% verzekering (optioneel) +<br />
Rekening bedrag exclusief 21% BTW<br />
Het rekening bedrag is per direct opeisbaar.<br />
Betaling geschiedt per bank, het is niet mogelijk<br />
het rekening bedrag in contanten te<br />
voldoen. Verrekening van eventuele tegenvorderingen<br />
is uitgesloten.<br />
3.3 Het is DSHS toegestaan om informatie in<br />
te winnen omtrent de financiële gegoedheid<br />
van een betreffende bieder/koper en<br />
deelname aan de veiling door en het sluiten<br />
van een overeenkomst met de betreffende<br />
bieder/koper afhankelijk te stellen van de<br />
ingewonnen informatie.<br />

the validity of a bid, the previous bid can be accepted<br />
again, after which bidding can resume. In<br />
the event of any disputes arising with or during<br />
the bidding process, the decision of the notary<br />
shall be binding.<br />
3. Settlement of auction amounts<br />
and expenses<br />
3.1 Immediately after completion of the auction<br />
buyers are obliged to settle amounts<br />
due in the auction office. If a buyer should<br />
fail to comply with this obligation, DSHS<br />
shall be entitled not to recognise the offer<br />
and to declare the auction invalidate, after<br />
which the purchased horse will again be<br />
made available for auction or alternatively<br />
the purchased horse is to be allocated to<br />
the second highest bidder. The buyer shall<br />
in this event be considered to be in legal<br />
default and shall be liable to compensate<br />
DSHS for any damage incurred, without<br />
prejudice to any other rights that DSHS<br />
may have.<br />
3.2 The amount due<br />
shall be calculated as follows:<br />

Invoice amount is exclusive of 21% VAT<br />
The balance shall become payable immediately.<br />
Payment is to be made by bank<br />
transfer and cash payment of the amount<br />
shall not be accepted. Settlement of any<br />
counter-claims is excluded.<br />
3.3 DSHS is entitled to gather information on<br />

3.4 Bij afrekening op het veilingbureau bestaat<br />
de mogelijkheid voor de koper om een<br />
verzekering af te sluiten voor het gekochte<br />
paard. Een dergelijke verzekering wordt<br />
niet door DSHS afgesloten.<br />
4. Veilingpaarden; aansprakelijkheid<br />
4.1 De aangeboden paarden in de veiling zijn<br />
geïdentificeerd op afstamming, geslacht,<br />
kleur en geboortejaar, zoals deze in de catalogus<br />
zijn aangegeven. DSHS sluit aansprakelijkheid<br />
uit met betrekking tot de gezondheidstoestand,<br />
de prestaties en/of gebruiksdoeleinden<br />
van de te veilen paarden.<br />
4.2 DSHS is niet aansprakelijk voor schade aan<br />
personen of zaken, ontstaan voorafgaand<br />
aan, ten tijde van en na de veiling, behoudens<br />
indien deze schade het gevolg is van<br />
opzet of bewuste roekeloosheid van DSHS<br />
of haar leidinggevende ondergeschikten.<br />
4.3 De paarden die via de veiling verkocht<br />
zullen worden zijn ten laatste 3 maanden<br />
voorafgaande aan de veiling röntgenologisch<br />
in orde bevonden. Een gebruikelijke<br />
klinische (sportpaarden-)keuring heeft ten<br />
laatste twee weken vóór de veiling plaatsgevonden.<br />
4.4 De veterinaire bevindingen kunnen voorafgaande<br />
aan de veiling op verzoek van de<br />
potentiële koper worden ingezien en toegelicht<br />
door veilingdierenarts E. Enzerink,<br />
of zijn plaatsvervanger.<br />
5. Afgifte, risicoen<br />
eigendomsoverdracht<br />
5.1 Direct na de gunning van een paard gaat<br />
het risico met betrekking tot het gekochte<br />
paard over op de koper en zijn alle verthe<br />
financial situation of a specific bidder/<br />
buyer and participant to the auction and<br />
may decide to make the conclusion of an<br />
agreement with the relevant bidder/buyer<br />
conditional, based on the information obtained.<br />
3.4 During settlement at the auction office,<br />
buyers have the option to conclude insurance<br />
for the horse that they purchased.<br />
This insurance is not concluded by DSHS.<br />
4. Auction <strong>Horse</strong>s; liability<br />
4.1 The horses offered in the auction are<br />
identified by origin, sex, colour and year of<br />
birth, as stated in the catalogue. DSHS excludes<br />
liability with regard to health status,<br />
the performance and/or purpose of use of<br />
the horses to be auctioned.<br />
4.2 DSHS cannot be held liable for damage to<br />
persons or property arising prior to, during<br />
or after the auction, except if such damage<br />
is caused by intent or deliberate recklessness<br />
on the part of DSHS or its subordinates.<br />
4.3 The horses sold through the auction have<br />
been found to be in good condition following<br />
a radiographic test conducted at<br />
least three months prior to the auction.<br />

horses) has been completed at the latest<br />

5. Release and transfer<br />

antwoordelijkheden en aansprakelijkheden,<br />
alsmede alle risicofactoren overgedragen<br />
aan de betreffende koper. De koper zal<br />
DSHS vrijwaren voor alle aanspraken van<br />
derden ter zake.<br />
5.2 De eigendom van het gekochte paard gaat<br />
op de koper over op het moment van afname<br />
als bedoeld in artikel 5.3 van deze<br />
voorwaarden, doch niet eerder dan nadat<br />
koper de volledige koopsom en eventuele<br />
op grond van niet-nakoming verschuldigde<br />
bedragen aan DSHS zal hebben voldaan.<br />
5.3 De koper is verplicht het gekochte paard<br />
af te nemen op de door DSHS vastgestelde<br />
plaats en tijd en bij gebreke daarvan<br />
binnen de daarvoor in de veilingcatalogus<br />
gestelde termijn, indien DSHS daarom<br />
verzoekt op vertoon van een deugdelijk<br />
legitimatiebewijs. De levering van het gekochte<br />
paard vindt plaats door de afname.<br />
De afname bestaat uit het door de koper<br />
ophalen van het gekochte paard. De afname<br />
kan eerst plaatsvinden nadat de volledige<br />
koopsom en het overigens verschuldigde<br />
door de koper is voldaan. Indien de<br />
koper de afname weigert of nalatig is met<br />
het verstrekken van informatie of instructies<br />
noodzakelijk voor de afname zal het<br />
gekochte paard door DSHS worden weggehaald<br />
en worden gestald voor rekening<br />
en risico van de koper. De koper is in dat<br />
geval verplicht alle aanvullende kosten,<br />
waaronder in ieder geval de stallingskosten,<br />
aan DSHS te vergoeden.<br />
6. Tekortkomingen<br />
(waaronder stalondeugden)<br />
6.1 Indien een koper van oordeel is dat het<br />
gekochte paard na feitelijke levering niet<br />
of risk and ownership<br />
5.1 Immediately after a bid on a horse has been<br />
accepted, any risks related to the purchased<br />
horse shall be transferred to the buyer and<br />
any responsibility and liability, as well as all<br />
risk factors are transferred to the respective<br />
buyer. The buyer shall indemnify DSHS<br />
from any claims brought by third parties.<br />
5.2 Ownership of the purchased horse passes<br />
to the buyer at the time of release as<br />
defined in Article 5.3 of these terms and<br />
conditions, but not before the buyer has<br />
settled the full purchase amount and any<br />
other amounts due to DSHS resulting from<br />
non-compliance.<br />
5.3 The buyer is obliged to take possession of<br />
the purchased horse at the place and time<br />
as specified by DSHS, or in the absence<br />
thereof, within the term defined in the<br />
auction catalogue and upon presentation<br />
of a valid identity document, if requested<br />
by DSHS. Delivery of the purchased horse<br />
takes place by means of its release. Release<br />
consists of collection of the purchased<br />
horse by the buyer. Release may only take<br />
place after settlement of the purchase<br />
price in full and any other amount due by<br />
the buyer. If the buyer should refuse release<br />
or if he/she should fail to provide information<br />
or instructions required for the<br />
release, DSHS shall remove the purchased<br />
horse and keep it in stables at the expense<br />
and risk of the buyer. The buyer shall then<br />
be obliged to compensate DSHS for any<br />
additional costs incurred, including stabling<br />
costs in any event.<br />
6. Shortcomings<br />

aan de overeenkomst beantwoordt, kan<br />
de koper hierop geen beroep meer doen<br />
indien hij niet binnen drie weken na ontdekking<br />
de verkoper (met kopie aan DSHS)<br />
daarvan in kennis heeft gesteld per aangetekende<br />
brief.<br />
6.2 Verkoper staat ervoor in dat het door de<br />
koper gekochte paard, tenzij voorafgaand<br />
aan de verkoop meegedeeld, niet lijdt aan<br />
de stalgebreken luchtzuigen, systematisch<br />
weven of kribbebijten en wel gedurende<br />
een periode van 2x 24 uur na feitelijke aflevering<br />
aan de koper.<br />
6.3 Indien een dierenarts, geregistreerd als<br />
keuringsdierenarts voor paarden of paardendierenarts,<br />
schriftelijk meedeelt dat één<br />
van de in artikel 6.2 genoemde stalgebreken<br />
naar zijn deskundig oordeel bestond<br />
vóór de datum feitelijke aflevering, heeft de<br />
koper het recht de koopovereenkomst te<br />
ontbinden met alle daaraan verbonden gevolgen.<br />
7. Geschillen<br />
7.1 Alle geschillen - daaronder begrepen die,<br />
welke slechts door één der partijen als<br />
zodanig worden beschouwd – welke naar<br />
aanleiding van de koopovereenkomst gesloten<br />
op de veiling danwel naar aanleiding<br />
van deze veilingvoorwaarden met DSHS<br />
ontstaan, worden beslecht door NAIarbitrage<br />
(Nederlands Arbitrage Instituut<br />
te Rotterdam), danwel in het geval de koper<br />
consument is, op diens verzoek overeenkomstig<br />
het Burgerlijk Wetboek, door<br />
de gewone burgerlijke rechter, in welk geval<br />
in eerste aanleg uitsluitend de Rechtbank<br />
Limburg bevoegd is.<br />

6.1 If a buyer finds that the horse purchased<br />
does not conform to the contract description<br />
after actual delivery, the buyer shall<br />
not be entitled to any recourse if the seller<br />
has not been informed thereof by registered<br />
letter within three weeks after the<br />
discovery (with a copy to DSHS).<br />
6.2 The seller warrants, unless notified of such<br />
prior to the sale, that the horse purchased<br />
by the buyer does not suffer from any stable<br />
vices such as cribbing, systematic weaving<br />
or wood chewing for a period of 2 x 24<br />
hours after actual delivery to the buyer.<br />
6.3 If a veterinarian, registered as an inspection<br />
veterinarian for horses or a horse veterinarian<br />
should state in writing that one of<br />
the stable vices listed in Article 6.2 was<br />
established in his/her expert opinion prior<br />
to the date of actual delivery, the buyer<br />
shall be entitled to terminate the purchase<br />
agreement with all resulting consequences.<br />
7. Disputes<br />
7.1 Any disputes with DSHS - including those<br />
that are considered as such by only one<br />
party - resulting from the purchase agreement<br />
concluded at the auction or following<br />
from these auction terms and conditions,<br />
shall be settled by NAI Arbitration (<strong>Dutch</strong><br />
Arbitration Institute in Rotterdam), or if<br />
the buyer is a consumer as defined in the<br />
<strong>Dutch</strong> Civil Code, in an ordinary civil court<br />
upon his/her request, in which case only<br />
the Court of First Instance in Limburg shall<br />
be entitled to rule on the matter.<br />
7.2 If the seller or DSHS intends to file pro-<br />

7.2 Indien de verkoper of DSHS een procedure<br />
aanhangig wil maken, zal zij indien de<br />
koper consument is, hem/haar gedurende<br />
een maand in de gelegenheid stellen schriftelijk<br />
zijn/haar keuze als bedoeld in artikel<br />
7.1 hiervoor, kenbaar te maken. In geval van<br />
een spoedeisend belang (kort geding) kan<br />
de verkoper (casu quo DSHS) de termijn<br />
bekorten tot vijf werkdagen.<br />
7.3 Steeds zal DSHS, ingeval sprake is van een<br />
blijvend geschil, op eigen titel bemiddeling<br />
tussen koper en verkoper initiëren (mediation)<br />
al dan niet, naar haar keuze, op haar<br />
kosten. Gekozen kan worden een dergelijke<br />
mediation te laten plaatsvinden overeenkomstig<br />
het NAI-mediationreglement.<br />
