A b o u t t h e C o m p a n y

NLMK-Long products is a NLMK’s subsidiary company which united parts of NLMK Group Long products division since

December 2009.

Industrial structure of NLMK-Long Products comprises integrated production from collection and processing ferrous metal

scrap to manufacturing of downstream steel products: rebar, wire rods and metal ware.

The facilities allow to produce 2.2 million tpy of liquid steel, 2 million tpy of rebar, 0.56 million tpy of metalware. Kaluga

electric steelmaking plant with capacity of up to 1.55 mln. tpy of liquid steel and 1.5 mln. tpy of long products is being under

construction.

Mills of NLMK-Long products are located in Sverdlov region:

Electric steelmaking mill – the city of Revda;

Rolling mills – the cities of Nizhnie Sergi and Berezovsky;

Metalware production mill – the city of Berezovsky.

Production and collection sites of scrap collecting division – Vtorchermet NLMK – operates in 37 regions of the Russian

Federation.

All production facilities of NLMK-Long products are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment supplied by leading world

manufacturers which permits to provide utmost efficiency of production and high quality of products.

VAI-Fuchs (Germany-Austria) – one of the leading companies in electrometallurgy is a supplier of main equipment for electric

steelmaking plant.

Long products facilities of the Group are provided with equipment delivered by such famous manufacturers as DANIELI (Italy),

DUO (Germany), SMS MEER (Germany), SUND BIRSTA (Sweden).

Production facilities of metalware division of the Group are equipped with draw benches delivered by KOCH (Germany),

MARIO FRIGERIO (Italy), TEАM MECCANICA (Italy) and meet the highest requirements.

«WAFIOS» and «HILGELAND» (Germany) machines for making fixing hardware for construction and engineering industries

were installed and assembled.

Electrolytic galvanizing and phosphorescent line for fixing hardware from MANZ (Germany) is in operation. Wire electric

phosphorescent line from M+E (Italy), bright annealing line from EBNER (Austria), chemico-thermal treatment furnaces from

KOHNLE (Germany), packing line from WEIGHPARK (Holland), two hot dip galvanizing lines for wire from «FIB»(Belgium) were

commissioned.

Companies of NLMK-Long products group produce wide range of rebar_, wire rod_, wire, fixing hardware of various steel

grades.

The companies continually diversify the product range mastering new types of products and thereby meeting market

requirements and increasing downstream output.

The abilities of the companies to provide high quality and competitiveness of products are defined by the applicable Quality

Management System which successfully passed certification in accordance with standards of ISO 9001-2008 and GOST R ISO

9001-2008, which is proved by respective certificates:

- Certificate of compliance (# РОСС RU.ИФ 41.K00016) issued by certification system GOST R for Quality Management

System in development and production of concast billets, wire rod, long products and rolled sections;

- Certificate of compliance (# 04 100 050008) issued by certification system TÜV NORD CERT for Quality Management

System in development and production of concast billets, wire rod, long products and rolled sections;

- Certificate of compliance (# РОСС RU.ИК 61.K00018) issued by certification system GOST R for Quality Management

CHEMICAL COMPOSITION

A concast billet is made of:

- carbon steel of commercial quality under GOST 380;

- carbon steel of SAE 1005, SAE 1006, SAE 1008, SAE 1010 grades and etc. under ASTM А510 М;

- low carbon steel of Sv-08, Sv-08А, Sv-08АА grades and alloyed steel of Sv-08G2S grade under GOST 2246;

- telegraph steel of Т, ТМ grades under TU 14-121-74-2006;

- low alloyed steel of 35GS and 25G2S grades under GOST 5781;

- quality structural steel under GOST 1050.

Production of a billet with chemistry in accordance with any other standards is possible subject to an agreement with a

customer.

PACKING

In line with the requirements of GOST 7566.

MARKING

A marking in indelible paint or a label of waterproof film with heat number and steel grade is applied on / attached to an

end-face or a side of every billet. A marking consisting of a heat ID and steel grade code to be interpreted in the certificate

is allowed:

- heat number – 5 digits (inclusive of the 1st digit – furnace number);

- steel grade code – 4 digits (under TU 14-177-63-2003).

A Quality certificate is issued for every heat with information on wagon number, heat, steel grade, chemical composition,

dimensions, quantity, weight and other data, if necessary, upon a customer’s request.

Mechanical properties of rebars under TU 14-1-5541-2006 and TU 14-1-55-79-2009 are in conformity with GOST 5781.

PACKING

Coils are strapped with wire rod of 6.5 – 7.0 mm diameter in four places upon circumference of the coil.

Bars with weight up to 5 tons are strapped by wire rod of 5 – 7 mm diameter in two cords with mandatory twisting.

When the products are shipped by rail, loading rate for a gondola car accounts for 67 – 69 tons for bars in sticks and 55 – 60

tons for bars in bundles.

MARKING

2 labels are attached to every package (every bundle). Marking on the label should contain: manufacturer’s trade mark, heat

number, steel grade, section and its dimension (number), weight of a coil (bundle), shift symbol.

APPLICATION

Reinforcing of common and prestressed structures.

Rebar, А400 class, under TU 14-1-5541-2006, in bundles under TU 14-1-5579-2009, as well as TMT rebar, А500С class,

under TU 14-1-5570-2008, TU 14-1-5580-2009 can be applied together and instead of rebars of А III (А400) class under

GOST 5781.

PACKING

Coils are strapped with wire rod of 6.5 – 7.0 mm diameter in four places upon circumference of the coil.

When the product is shipped by rail, wire rod loading rate for a gondola car accounts for 55 – 61 tons.

MARKING

Two plastic labels are directly attached to every coil of wire rod (one – at the beginning of the coil, another – at the end of

the coil). Marking on the labels should contain: manufacturer’s name, wire rod type code, steel grade, heat number, weight

in kg, shift, QCD (shift symbol).

1. Technical requirements to non-heat-treated wire GOST 3282, GOST 2246, GOST 792, GOST 7480.

Non-heat-treated wire, without coating, of diameter:

- 0.2-0.5 mm is coiled into coils of 8-12 kg or reels of 5-25 kg;

- 0.6-1.1 mm – coils of 500-1 000 kg;

- 1.0-6.0 mm – coils of 1 000 kg;

- 2.0-5.0 mm – coils of 80-100 kg;

2. Technical requirements to heat-treated wire GOST 3282 (bright, black).

Heat-treated wire, bright, of diameter:

- 0.6-1.1 mm is coiled into coils of 1 000 kg;

- 1.2-6.0 mm – coils of 1 000 kg;

- 2.0-5.0 mm – coils of 80-100 kg.

Heat-treated wire, black, of diameter:

- 0.2-0.5 mm is coiled into reels of 5.0 – 14.0 kg;

- 0.6-1.1 mm – coils of 8.0-14.0 kg;

- 1.0-1.5 mm – coils of 75-85 kg;

- 1.6-6.0 mm – coils of 75-85 kg or 600–800 kg.

3. Technical requirements to galvanized and non-heat-treated wire GOST 3282, GOST 1668 (wire diameter up to 2.0 mm),

GOST 7480, TU 1211-005-557987 (diameter of 1.2-6.0 mm).

Galvanized and non-heat-treated wire of diameter:

- 0.2-0.5 mm is coiled into reels of 5 – 14 kg;

- 0.55-1.1 mm – coils of 8-14 kg;

- 1.2-1.3 mm – coils of 75-85 kg or 250–350 kg;

- 1.4-6.0 mm – coils of 75-85 kg or 600–800 kg.

4. Technical requirements to galvanized and heat-treated wire conform to the requirements to GOST 3282, GOST 1668 (wire

diameter up to 2.0 mm), GOST 1526, GOST 15892, GOST 792, TU 1211-005-55798700 (diameter of 1.2-6.0 mm).

Galvanized and heat-treated wire of diameter:

- 0.2-0.55 mm is coiled into reels of 5 – 14 kg;

- 0.6-1.1 mm – coils of 8-14 kg;

- 1.2-1.4 mm – coils of 75-85 kg or 250–350 kg;

- 1.5-6.0 mm – coils of 75-85 kg or 600–800 kg.

5. Technical requirements to wire for reinforcement Vr-1 are in line with the requirements of GOST 6727 (without coating)

and TU 1213-024-55798700-2008 (galvanized).

Galvanized and uncoated wire for reinforcement Vr-1 of diameter:

- 3.0, 4.0, 5.0 mm is coiled into coils of 900-1 000 kg;

6. Technical requirements to wire for reinforcement of Vr-1 class are in line with the requirements

of TU 1213-025-55798700-2008.

Wire for concrete reinforcement of Vr-1 class of diameter:

- 2.8, 3.8, 4.8 mm is coiled into coils of 900-1 000 kg.

7. Technical requirements to wire for reinforcement of В500С class are in line with the requirements of TU 14-1-5558-2007.

Wire for reinforcement of B500C class of diameter:

- 5.0, 6.0, 8.0 mm is coiled into coils of 1 000-3 000 kg.

This wire is made of 1sp SAE1005 steel grades

The following types of the wire are produced:

• by treatment: with heat-treatment and w/o heat treatment;

• by surface: with and without coating (galvanized).

Heat-treated wire is made as bright and black.

Dimensions and mechanical properties of untreated wire:

- without coating of I and II group of normal and higher accuracy;

- galvanized of 1st and 2nd category.
