Challenge Cancer

In the UK, 1 in 3 people will be affected by cancer. The challenge for cancer charities

stretches from research, early detection, education, prevention & cure, through to the

care & support for those facing their own personal challenge.

We’re seeking cyclists of all abilities to join us and help to raise hundreds of thousands

of pounds for the Charity Partner of your choice, in our battle to Challenge Cancer! In

September 2015, join thousands of others in a festival of cycling, on a fully supported

and inclusive ride, for people of all experiences and on all types of bike.

„ Challenge Cancer South – it’s Cycle London 2 Brighton.

„ Challenge Cancer North – it’s Cycle Trans Pennine

(Manchester ↔ Leeds).

„ Day Ride and Moonride options, along with

‘There & Back’ rides.

„ Take on as part of a team, or sign up as an

individual going solo.

„ Training, kit & nutrition guide included in your

Participant Area online.

„ Fully supported – mechanics, medics, signage,

support riders.

„ FREE meal at your half way point & finish.

„ FREE snacks & drinks at covered rest stops.

„ Medal & glass of bubbly at the finish line!

„ FREE bike transport from the finish, back to

start – with purchasable coach service.

Take on the classic London 2 Brighton route, either as a 60 mile

Day Ride or a Moonride under the stars. Or – for those that really

want to push themselves, we have the 120 mile ‘There & Back’

option! You’ll begin by setting off from Central London, past Big

Ben and the River Thames, on your way to leaving the capital

for the south coast. Pedal on through the Surrey and Sussex

countryside, over the South Downs and take on the infamous

Ditchling Beacon!

„ 60 mile Day Ride or Moonride – or, 120 mile

‘There & Back’ ride.

„ Day Ride – starting Sunday morning, Moonride – starting

Saturday night.

„ ‘There & Back’ ride – starting Saturday midnight.

Cycle ‘Trans Pennine’ between 2 great cities, 60 miles beginning

in either Manchester or Leeds – you choose which! Take on as a

Day Ride or a Moonride – or, as a 120 mile ‘There & Back’ route!

Wherever you begin, all rides will meet up at our mid way point

in Keighley for a hot meal and well earned rest. Follow in the

tracks of the Tour de France, cycling over the stunning Ilkley

Moor – in your bid, to ‘Challenge Cancer’!

„ 60 mile Day Ride or Moonride – or, 120 mile

‘There & Back’ ride.

„ Manchester to Leeds or Leeds to Manchester,

or ‘There & Back’.

„ Day Ride – starting Sunday morning, Moonride

– starting Saturday night.

„ ‘There & Back’ ride – starting Saturday midnight.

The Charities

Choose to fundraise a minimum of £250 for one of our 4

partner charities. Whoever you decide to support, you’ll

be making a difference in your bid to Challenge Cancer.

to stop breast cancer taking the women we

love. By joining our team and taking on the

ride of your life, you’ll be helping our scientists

continue making breakthroughs that will

lead to the day when no one dies from this

devastating disease.

Take the journey of a lifetime with Cancer

Research UK by joining our Challenge Cancer

team. Take part in this cycling challenge and

you can help us bring forward the day that all

cancers are cured. We receive no government

funding, so we need people like you to help us

save lives.

Join Macmillan Cancer Support for Challenge

Cancer and help change the lives of people

living with cancer. Now, more than ever, we

need people like you to join our team and get

involved. We’ll also be at the event to wish you

luck and congratulate you at the finish. With

you help we can make a difference.

Prostate Cancer UK fights to help more men

survive prostate cancer and enjoy a better

quality of life. We support men and provide

vital information. Take part for us at Challenge

Cancer and you will join Men United, our

movement for everyone who believes that

men are worth fighting for.

How to Join

As a team or an individual

Choose your Challenge Cancer ride and

take on either as a team of friends, family or

colleagues. You can choose to fundraise as a

team together, for individually for your own

charity. Alternatively, sign up as a solo rider

and meet like minded challengers all set on

the same goal!

„ Choose your ride – Cycle London 2 Brighton

or Cycle Trans Pennine!

„ Choose how to take it on – Day Ride,

Moonride or ‘There & Back’.

„ To join as team, the captain registers first

and inputs the team name.

„ Teammates then register, using the same

team name.

„ All of your team can be allocated the same

start time.

„ Teams can grow in size and members can

join at any time.

„ Corporate discounts available!

Registering for Challenge Cancer North or South

You can sign up to either challenge online, by paying

a registration fee of £39 (or £49 for ‘There & Back),

committing to a minimum fundraising target of £250

for your chosen charity partner. Out of your fundraising,

your charity will pay a small fee for your place on

the event and are guaranteed a minimum return in

fundraising from you taking part.

„ £39 to register for Challenge Cancer (or £49

for ‘There & Back).

„ 50% (£125) of your fundraising must be with

your charity 6 weeks before the event.

„ The remainder is due no later than 4 weeks

after the event.
