Concours at the Greens'

26th October 2008

by Bob Elliott

Our guests Leslie and Vic Hunter-Webb chose 3 cars to be

short listed for the Auto Salon D'Elegance award, and John

Lackey, Bryan Inder and Robert Miles received car wash

A fine Spring day with a gentle breeze created perfect conditions

for our Concours at Currawong House in Glenorie.

As usual, Roger and Liz Green had prepared the property

beautifully, and the 24 Bentleys on display completed the

picture. The 60 members and guests enjoyed a picnic

kits for their 3 litre, GTC and 4 1/4 litre Derby respectively.

Members inspected the cars enthusiastically, and as always

were discerning in their choices. I am looking forward to

presenting the trophies at the Christmas Dinner on Dec 1.

A big thank you is due to the Greens for their hospitality.

We all took a closer look at each of the cars with our scoring sheets

in hand

lunch, judging, chatting, swimming and just savouring

the relaxed environment. There were many familiar cars,

but also some newly restored, newly acquired and less

familiar Bentleys, including John Lackey's 1924 3 Litre,

Peter Moran's S3, Victor Nash's 1948 Mk VI DHC, Clovis

Young's 1997 Continental R, and a 2008 Continental GTC

from Bentley Motors.
