The Community Foundation focused our energies this year on best practices. Using CF Insights benchmark data, we
searched throughout the U.S. for aspirational concepts to replicate locally. Board and staff discovered best practices and
lessons learned—what to do, and what not to do, in our continuing quest to grow legacy philanthropy throughout
Chester County.
This year, we launched our first annual Trustee Institute. On the reflective campus of the Westtown School, 225
nonprofit board members spent the day strengthening their governance abilities and networking. The Trustee Institute
enables board members to more effectively secure their nonprofit organizations’ futures in an ever-changing world.
In the coming year, the Community Foundation is poised to:
• initiate our Smart Giving Series, so more people learn,
experience and enjoy philanthropy
• enhance our services to top tier estate planning attorneys,
so they keep legacy philanthropy top of mind
• diversify our investment partnerships via our Medallion program.
Our Imprints initiative continues to gain momentum. Imprints engages people in their 20s, 30s and 40s in experiential
philanthropy. Imprints offers giving circles, adopt-a-nonprofit advisor groups, site visits, flash fundraising, and networking
for a cause.
Our fund advisors and fund donors continue to be generous. During this past year:
• The Community Foundation proudly awarded $1.5 million to the community. Our fund advisors chose to award 433
grants and 148 scholarships.
• 3,075 charitable donors contributed $3.7 million to our family of funds.
• Our donors created 17 new funds this year. This brings the total number of funds under the Community Foundation’s
umbrella to 348.
In Chester County, our future is bright and opportunities abound. Now, more than ever, we are positioned to create
lasting change within our community. We thank you for your partnership. We look forward to working with you to fulfill
our vision for an even healthier, more vibrant region.
Let your legacy create a lasting impression.
