LADIES AND GENTLEMEN,
DEAR READERS,
It is with great delight that I am looking at the first edition of “Alliance” magazine, a
publication entirely dedicated to the friendly and ever strengthening ties between
the Russian Federation and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
I would first of all like to extend my congratulations to the initiators of this project
for their dedication and their diligence. The relations between Russia and
Luxembourg are rich and diversified, allowing “Alliance” magazine to provide professional
and comprehensive insights into areas of ongoing cooperation as well
as future opportunities. With a clear emphasis on political and economic topics,
the magazine further covers scientific research, technology, culture, education,
history, and lifestyle.
While the Luxembourg-Russian friendship goes back all the way to the 19th
century, it is in particular in recent years that we have been able to strengthen
economic ties substantially. This development is a direct result of continuous
joint efforts aimed at nourishing bilateral economic and financial relations and
is indeed reflected by the frequent official visits and numerous cooperation initiatives
on both sides.
An ever growing number of Luxembourg based companies pursue business
opportunities in the Russian Federation and use Russia as their natural base for
doing business in the CIS countries. On the other hand, many Russian companies
and entrepreneurs have discovered Luxembourg’s immense potential as a
hub from which to penetrate the European markets and expand their international
activities. Luxembourg is convinced that its future lies in innovation and entrepreneurship
and the government is doing its utmost to keep companies at the
forefront of competition and to provide a regulatory landscape that is conducive
for foreign investors.
Russia and Luxembourg complement each other in many areas of activity and
“Alliance” magazine is in a unique position to illustrate the development of the
dynamic and thriving relations between our two nations and its people.
I wish the publishers a lot of success and everyone else an interesting read.
