2. DETAILS OF TOURNAMENT

Time : 3.00pm to 6:00pm

Venue : SSC Grand Ballroom

3. ELIGIBILITY

• Members of Recreation Clubs affiliated to the Singapore Taekwondo Federation.

• Based on highest grade obtained in the January 2009 Grading or before

4. CLASSIFICATION OF COMPETITION (FREE SPARRING)

Please refer to Registration Form for weight divisions.

4.1 Junior Category (Age 13 Years Old & Below)

4.1.1 Junior I Brown Belt & Above

4.1.2 Junior II Blue Belt

4.2 Youth Category (Age 14 to 16 Years Old)

4.2.1 Youth I Brown Belt & Above

4.2.2 Youth II Blue Belt

4.3 Senior Category (Age 17 Years Old & Above)

4.3.1 Senior I Brown Belt & Above

4.3.2 Senior II Blue Belt

4.4 Individual Poomsae (No Age Limit)

4.4.1 White Belt

4.4.2 Yellow Belt

4.4.3 Green Belt

4.4.4 Blue Belt

4.4.5 Brown Belt

4.4.6 Black/Poom

4.5 Individual Freestyle Destruction (Mixed)

4.5.1 Green Belt

5. UNIFORM

Contestants shall wear the official uniform of Singapore Taekwondo Federation. Those who fail to observe

this rule will be barred from participation.

6. FIXTURES

The Championships fixtures will be ready for collection at the SSC Reception and Sports Counters after

3:00pm on Saturday, 16 May 2009.

7. WEIGH-IN

Weigh-In shall be conducted once. However, one Weigh-In will be conducted within half an hour of the first

Weigh-In shall be granted to contestants who fail to qualify the first time.

8 DRAWING OF LOTS

This will be done immediately after the Registration Date.

9. CONTEST

At least three (3) contestants for every category and division.

(Poomsae, Freestyel Destruction & Free Sparring)

10. METHOD OF COMPETITION

Single elimination system.

11. RULES & REGULATIONS

11.1 WTF & STF Rules

11.2 Free Sparring for Senior 1 (Brown Belt & Above) will be conducted foe three (3) rounds of three (3)

minutes each with one (1) minute rest between rounds.

11.3 Free Sparring for other categories will be conducted for three (3) rounds of two (2) minutes each with

thirty (30) seconds rest between rounds.

11.4 Kicking to the head are strictly prohibited for competitions in the Youth and Junior Categories. The

competitor who executes a kick to the head will be given a one point (Gam-Jeom) deduction if there

is no injury at all or an immediate disqualification if it result in ay injury.

12. INDIVIDUAL POOMSAE

12.1 Maximum time given is 1 (ONE) minute to display the Poomsae.

12.2 Participants will be judged on knowlegde of Poomsae, Sharpness/Power, Rhythm, Balance and

Stances.

13. FREESTYLE DESTRUCTION

13.1 Maximum time given is 2 (TWO) minutes (Inclusive of Set-up), after which, point will be deducted.

13.2 Participants can choose to use Hand Technique, Leg Technique or Both Combine Technique.

13.3 Participants are to provide their own holder during the event. Nooden planks will be supplied by the

Organising Committee.

13.4 Participants will be judged on Creativity, Degree of Difficulty, Balance/Landing, Style of Execution an

Percentage of Breakage.

14. REGISTRATION

12.1 Registration for the Championships will be opened on Saturday, 2 May 2009 from 2:30pm to 3:30pm

at the SSC Fitness Studio.

12.2 Registration Fee will be S$12.00 (+GST) per participation per event.

12.3 Grading Cards or Certificates are required for verification during Registration.

15 EQUIPMENT

Participants are allowed to put on their own protective padding (STF approved) during the Championships. In

addition, head gear, mouth piece, glove, groin guard, forearm and shin guard should be worn by participants

when entering the contest area.

16 PROTEST

There will be NO protest allowed. The judge’s decision will be final.

17 AWARDS

The following prizes will be presented to: -

1 st Place : One Gold Medal

2 nd Place : One Silver Medal

Joint 3 rd Place : One Bronze Medal each
