Special Events Masterclass with Cléa Van der Grijn Sat, 25 Feb., 10.30am - 4.30pm, €70 / €60 Cléa van der Grijn will lead a conceptual and practical masterclass, taking in her gallery exhibition and studio space. Artist Talk with Alexandra Hopf Wed. 1 Mar., 2pm, Free Alexandra Hopf will invite you to look at her work as part of her residency at The Model and will lead a discussion on her exhibition The Night. Community Sligo Global Kitchen Sligo Global Kitchen (SGK) is a gesture of solidarity to those living within the direct provision system in Sligo. This diversity project, led by artist Anna Spearman highlights the importance of the everyday rituals of cooking and eating together. SGK provides a space where people and communities can come together at a common table. Sligo Global Kitchen is generously funded by the Community Foundation of Ireland. Sligo Global Kitchen with Pulled Fri. 9 Dec., 5pm - 8pm, €10 Sligo Global Kitchen will unite with local screen printing studio Pulled for a night of food and festive inspired live screen printing & music. Latin Dance Class: Salsa - Merengue - Bachata - Reggaeton Thursdays, 9 Feb. - 30 Mar. 6pm - 7.30pm, €5 An introduction to Latin Dance taught by Loander and Jésus, Latin dancers from Venezuela in a fun and authentic environment - with complimentary drinks and mini tapas. This is a collaborative arts project between The Model and residents of Globe House. Music Donal Dineen Presents Backstory Sat. 3 Dec., 8pm, €15 / €12 conc. Dineen brings his unique show featuring some of the finest choice selectors from all over Ireland for what promises to be a blockbuster night of music and dancing. Informal Music Afternoon Monthly every first Sunday 4 Dec., 5 Feb., 5 Mar. 1pm - 3pm, €5 / children free Presented jointly by Sligo Baroque Orchestra and The Model, the Informal Music Afternoon is an ideal way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Musicians play classical pieces in addition to an eclectic mix of folk, traditional and jazz in the relaxed setting of the Gallery Café. Con Brio at The Model Con Brio presents a programme embracing music from the baroque to contemporary performed by ensembles and soloists of the highest calibre.
